You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. This insolent piece of shite shouldn't have had her phone at school.

Also,

Since when is it ok to film police during a pending investigation? Whoever shot this video should be in prison.

For being on the phone with her sick mother? Mom trumps teacher or school administrator every time.

Is this girl a doctor? Is she going to provide some life saving advice over the phone to her mother? Considering the fact that she is in a reading class in high school I am going to guess that the answer to these questions is no. In fact, not paying attention while in class is probably why she is still in a reading class in the first place.

Pretty sure knee on head is protocol. That's how my friend learned it.

Agree 100%. Give her suspension, or (GASP!) paddle her arse to get her mind right. I remember in my day one sure fired way the teachers had to get our attitude where it needed to be was to send us to visit the vice principle and his "board of education".

But her violation of those rules did not warrant having a gown man pin her to the ground with his knee on her neck. Sounds like he's a piece of shite cop on a power trip.

I am fascinated they have a reading teacher in high school. Most sophomores are studying literature and not still learning how to read. I missed the entire point of the article because I was fixated on this one fact.

She might be an ESL (English second language) student.

yeah if her mother was really sick I'm sure she could have worked something out with the office instead of just breaking the rules

I'm sure those students will respect cops for the rest of their lives now. Protect and serve.

ETA: You have to make students follow the rules, but you don't do it by calling jackbooted thugs in to take them down.

I didn't see this. I only read where her justification for keeping the phone was because her mom was sick.

You are very wrong. His action was correct. He handled the situation with minimal damage to any parties involved. oooor he could back to the office for a 70 lb. female to come arrest her to keeps things equal.
