Getting the iPhone 6 Space Gray 16GB model. Online Apple store is the first preference to place the order because it will allow me to have the phone delivered to the local Apple store, that way I don't have to wait for the Fedex guy to show up. If the Apple servers get slammed and I can't order it within a few minutes, my 2nd preference is the ATT website.
For those pre-ordering online, go through the entire process with a current iPhone (5C or 5S) up until you have to actually click "Place order". That way, you know exactly what to expect when you place an actual order for the 6/6+. That is the best way to be prepared for online preordering.
I just did this for an ATT Next upgrade scenario at Apple.com. It certainly helps to practice. First you got to log-in with your Apple ID, then pick the phone, color, memory size and carrier. Then it asks you if you want to add a line or upgrade an existing line. You have to enter the phone number (of the line you want to upgrade), the zip code and the last 4 digits of the primary account holder’s social security number (make sure you have this!) .Then it gave me the option of either picking the Next 12 or Next 18 or the two year contract plan. If I had picked the two-year contract plan I would have lost the $25 per month discount I get with the 10GB plan. So my only option was one of the Next Plans. Then you hit continue and it bring you to the order page and you finish from there.

If I wake up at a normal time tomorrow morning and try to order will I be able to? Maybe still be able to order it, just not be assured that it'll come in on the 19th?

It's still working great, but I was already eligible for my subsidize upgrade in April. I was indecisive then, and now I've just kind of resigned to apathy. I know any of the primary contenders would be considered quite an upgrade from my 4s, but I don't really know if it matters. My activities on the phone include E-mail, Pandora, browsing, and the Word Chums game with my brothers, parents, and nephews. The only upgrade I'd notice is the camera.
Or perhaps a new phone would open me up to a whole new world of shite that I didn't know I would like to do with a phone.

I'm going to do a test run on my phone using the Apple Store App at 1:50. If the servers are already lagging, I'm gonna get my wife's and my iPads and pull it up on those as well and keep refreshing all three until I get through on one of them.

ATT pre-order is LIVE! But I want to try Apple first because if I change my mind about the color to the model, I can return it for free at the Apple store, but ATT will probably charge me $35 restocking fee.
