This makes no sense. Have you ever read the Qur'an ?
No. The point being the Old testament is much more violent reflecting the time in which it was written (same as the Quar'an). The new testament, as pointed out, differs significantly from the "fracture for a fracture, eye for an eye".
If groups of Christians CHOSE to practice the old testament literally, they would likely be branded extremests by todays definitions.
Religion does not make one be violent. There is certinaly enough violence in any religions past to "justify" it should one CHOOSE to do so.
People are free to CHOOSE for themsleves.

I did. Wrote a term paper on it at Centenary. It's important to know that Mohammed read the Old and New Testaments of the Bible before he wrote the Koran.
That's why he described Abraham as the father of the race; Moses as a prophet and Jesus as a prophet (but not the Son of God). Mohammed claimed he was the last prophet.
I don't recall anything about how he moved a mountain (he had to have miracle to match Jesus walking on water and bringing the dead back to life.)
If anyone here is up on mountain movement I'd love to hear the story.

Yes. I'm still not following your point. The NT was also written before the Qur'an.

and it includes events from both.
Did you not read the whole part of my thread about choice?

For Muhammad miracles, I was always partial to the story of the magical flying horse with a human face (Buraq) that Muhammad used to fly to Jerusalem.

Yes I did and I still don't understand your point. It's obvious that you haven't read it. That's OK.

yeah i said i didnt read it.
Ill state my point again, as clearly as humanly possible:
All religions contain violent passages. Individuals practicing those religions CHOOSE whether or not to interpret those passages literally and act on them. In other words, they decide to be violent, and look to the book to justify their actions.
Dont blame the book. blame the people.

A violent group that practices Islam does not define Islam any more than a violent group practicing Christianity defines Christianity.
Jesus told his followers to turn the other cheek, to love their enemies,
pray for your enemies.
Mohamed on the other hand was a man of violence who spread his faith by violence. He also was a pedophile and immoral.
Those that wage war on infidels are doing exactly as their greatest prophet modeled.

Revelator, guess what? You are not a Christian. I am willing to bet you celebrate Christmas, birthdays, several other pagan events, ,you vote, and glorify the military. That makes you unchristian, per the bible's definition.
What in the heck are you going on about? Maybe you should arm yourself with at least a cursory understanding of the bible and Christianity before making ignorant comments like these.
