Picked up a six pack of NB shift at the Chevron the other day on the way out to the lakes to kayak.

Eh.. if all I had was a gas station selection, it really depends on the gas station. Some carry Goose Island, Abita, Sweetwater. Some even carry locals besides Abita, like Tin Roof and Nola blondes. However, if I was in a little podunk town with nothing else, I'd probably grab High Life.

There is "room" for our 70lb niece of a Golden-Doodle though.

Honestly, haven't bought beer from gas stations in years. I keep a good stock at my house. But in a pinch I guess the answer would be Abita Amber.

there are a few gas stations around Shreveport that have a LA beer section that will carry Abita, Great Raft, Bayou Teche, NOLA, etc.
Around this time last year, I was working out of a hotel in Magnolia, AR. The county is dry, and I'd have to stay there 4-5 days at a time.
There was a gas station in Homer I would stop at to load up reinforcements. They carried SN, NB, NOLA, and Bayou Teche. I remember talking with the distributor rep back then and him telling me that soon one of the Shreveport breweries were going to have their stuff delivered to that station as well.
Fortunately for me, I found a job in Houston before that happened. All that area of Southern Arkansas was depressing, though still better than SE New Mexico.

I stopped at a gas station in the middle of nowhere Washington that had a better beer selection than probably any store in the state of LA.
It rivaled Specs. It was incredible.
Occasionally, you run into one of those that obviously caters to craft beer drinkers, and is part gas station, part bottle shop. That is not normal, but like I said, even the worst gas stations in the PNW carry some craft beer. I just don't trust the IPAs...

When it comes down to it I will drink just about anything. I have my favorites but if those arent available then I will get whatever. Beer is beer. Except those lima-rita, bud light lime, and the like...that shite aint beer.

I live on Brightside and often walk to the Circle K, but if I feel like going a few hundred feet further in the other direction, AM Mart isn't too awful. Not great.. But better than a regular gas station.
PLUS.. They cater to college kids who are broke and buy Natty. So I usually don't even buy beer because they sell Chandon for $19!
It's $26 anywhere else.

Why would I buy beer at a gas station?
This. I just can't think of a situation where I'd be looking for beer from a gas station.

I'm young, so my fridge is rarely stocked up to the point where I can sustain more than a day or two. I am surprised I even have the bombers I have right now in it.
When I'm at the pool and too messed up to drive, but ran out of beer, I have to walk to the gas station.
I need to grow up

the gas station by my house has Lagunitas IPA and Little Sumpin. They've got other craft stuff as well.

I've been in that situation before at the fishing camp. I try to bring as much good beer as possible but sometimes it's just isn't enough. You would have to drive an hour up the Bayou to find craft beer other than Abita.

I found myself in a position where I was camping near Mt St Helens and I underestimated the amount of beer that my cousin and his wife would drink. We ran out two nights into a 3 night stay. I had to drive about 15 miles to the nearest convenience store/gas station. I was able to procure some Black Butte Porter, Red Chair, Inversion IPA, and Elysian Immortal IPA. The IPAs were barely drinkable.

If you weren't such a kind and generous Jax, I would resent you based on this alone.
Siding with ut, I wouldn't be in a gas station buying beer. If I absolutely had to, PBR FTW. Used to be my cheap beer of choice, now that the hipsters like it, price is no longer an advantage, but hey, it's my roots. :noracist:
