It could be a fungal infection. My wife's aunt will be on oxygen the rest of her life because she didn't go to the Dr with a persistent cough.

There's your problem right there, weak lungs. You have to condition them to take the pounding aging causes.

Glad to see you feeling better. My FIL had a persistant cough due a cholesterol medicine he was on. He got off of it and the cough went away. If you're on any type of other meds, look at the side effects if your cough doesnt go away.

This crap or cough has come back tonight with a vengeance.

I have a follow up appointment on Thursday. What else should I ask the doctor to do?

Did you ever get a chest x-ray? I would do PFT's to test your lung function. The ccdrlsu offer was really good on previous page. He appears to be critical care/pulmonologist, I would take his offer and see the expert

No lightheaded or swelling of feet.

While at the doctor last week, I did a pulmonary test to test my lung capacity. Based upon the results, she indicated that my lungs were functioning properly and didn't have a concern for any mass.

No X-Ray was taken. The doctor I visited specializes in allergy and immunology.

May have already been covered but:

Do they tend to coincide with peaks some time after eating.

I agree. I even suggested this but she said based upon what she heard and the results of what she saw from the test, at that time, an X-Ray was not needed.

Nope. Tonight's attack was prior to dinner. I did spend all day, over 9 hours on the phone. A requirement of my job.

Maybe I was too "active" today?

And yet you are still dropping pills for every main cause.

If that's what the doc told you to take then he isn't sure.
