It is a Belgian IPA. The Belgians didn't sail to India often enough to get their recipes down.

Happy to see Bayou Teche on the board. I think much of their issues came from the metallic aftertaste of the beers the contracted Lazy Magnolia to bottle. The ones recently from their own brewery have not had that problem.

Cocodrie has been my favorite thus far.

proud of LA and hopefully we can laugh at this list in another 18 months

We all know how much you like ICS.

For me, ICS is better than Tin Roof's pgp and Abita's stouts which I wasn't as big of a fan as a lot on this board. I tried Macchiato right after Mystery Romp so that may have skewed it. I found Mystery Romp to be a lot better.

I think it may have something to do with what's new. ICS isn't new anymore and is easily available thus it isn't as popular. Or it could be the can issue that people had which I have never experienced.

Where did you quote that from?

And most stores have it. Calandros, Bin Q, Beverage Store, Alexanders, Hokus Pokus, Albertsons, Winn Dixie, Leblanc's, maybe even Wal Mart and gas stations. Its just about everywhere.

what new breweries down south are in the works to open next year?

Bossier is getting a brewery soon called Flying Heart Brewery

LINK

That would be 3 craft breweries in Shreveport/Bossier...which would kinda make it the craft beer capital of LA

I'm going off memory, but mud bug which I think is in thibodeaux. In New Orleans, wayward owl? And that small brew pub (courtyard brewing?). Seems like there's some others I've heard of but I can't think off the top of my head

Courtyard should open next month here. So that would be 3 in the NOLA area not counting the NS. Then they are 2-4 others in the works but getting through the red tape is hard.

I've had all 18 at one time or another.

Agree with what someone else said about Abita Macchiato. I'm usually a fan of coffee stouts and porters, but I got more of a burnt coffee from it. It wasn't bad, just not as good as some other coffee beers I've had.

I believe I've had 10 of the beers.

1 thru 4
12 thru 16
18

I think people's tastes have evolved, as well. Wasn't Envie around 18 months ago? It was not on the list. Hopitoulas is no longer on the list, but 18 months ago it was high on the list and ranked ahead of TR PGP and Abita Oyster Stout (both of which are still on the list).
