This^^^. The alternate ending is fine if Barney and Robin don't split. The one that aired was more satisfying to me. The majority of the show is about Ted being in love with Robin. I was totally satisfied with the ending (or what I though was the ending - train station scene), but the added Robin part didn't detract from it, it made it that much better. This is clouded by two things - first, I did not care about Tracy at all. Bad actress, not attractive, and just didn't feel right for Ted. Even though her character was his mirror image, she just couldn't deliver that as an actress. Secondly, Cobie Smulders is the hottest woman on the planet. She is this era's Jaclyn Smith.

I think you might be the only person I have seen with this opinion. Most people have said that they did a great job making everyone fall in love with her in the short time she was on screen.

The last scene is them meeting, it still shows the future stuff up til they get married and kinda implies Barney and Robin may get back together. Bob Saget did a new audio for it. That's about all that is new from what was shown originally.
This new ending doesn't fix anything for me. The first one still existed.
