I don't think Sumlin goes NFL. the aggies can pay him more and offer him more longevity and security.

I don't think he'll have to worry about money anytime soon. ANd you are right about his situation..

But the NFL has perks as well. No recruiting, grade issues, class/campus issues, BIG money, etc etc etc. They can always step back down and get top gigs at another college....Spurrier, Kiffin, Saban, etc.

Usually, when offered enough money, it's in their blood to find out if they can make it at that level.

I personally think Sumlin's offense is an NFL offense that would translate there more than Kelly's Oregon system. It relies less on qb designed runs and taking hits.

i'm guessing but I believe that over half nfl head coaches make less than $5 mil per year. sumlin hasn't done anything at aTm but prove he is a very good oc. he had to get to at least one nc game to prove he is head coaching material in nfl.

spurrier, saban, carroll, Kelly had outstanding college success. sumlin has finished no higher than 3rd in sec west.

Sumlin has provisions that will keep him at TAM until the stadium is complete. Huge buyout. He will stick around until then unless Jerry Jones comes calling and pays the buyout.

TAM is behind for Johnson and there are trust issues between the Johnsons and the atAM staff, which is what caused the complete turn around in his recruitment from early on. He was an AM lean at the beginning but then dad got majorly involved and things changed. Members of the Easton staff were guiding TJ to TAM and the TAM staff member leading the recruitment was playing his part in it. Sumlin has a lot of work to do in order to fix things. That said, the Johnson's will be open to listening. Still think Texas Tech is the biggest threat. We have to show him that we aren't gonna revert back to run, run, throw all the time. Gonna be hard with the young qbs.

Or just tell him the truth A&M is loaded with WRs just look at the game they just had. We need another top 10 WR, would be great in our offense. Diarse, Dural, Malachi, Quinn, and this guy would be huge for next years offense damn, all going to be in the NFL one day and probably drafted pretty high.

Sumlin will get his share of the players we want; he is young and Afican American so he can relate to players and he is a fine offensive coach. BUT, players who commit to him are going to have to stay in College Station for THREE years, and they are going to have to mingle with those students every day. Watch them hold hands and yell practise etc. Listen to them praise Rick Perry and his ilk. Listen to their awful music. Three years of that. Think hard, Tyron.

Who is recruiting him for LSU?

Mainly Frank Wilson.

Henry, Cam, and Les are all involved as well.

...when he had to change from what he was doing before. Kelly though ran an offense at Oregon and early part of his 1st year in Philly that was different from what Sumlin runs.

Probably a better chance of Sumlin leaving for the NFL than Cam

Definitely this.

Sumlin prolly coaching the Atlanta Falcons next year. That ball club is about to implode and sadly Mike Smith will be fired (I say sadly because Mike Smith is a good dude).

Well, Sumlin can take the Alabama road. "We dont need you; we want you." (Saban)

"I will video chat with you for a record 1 hour 37 minutes."

Or get an assistant to tweet him, "Sumlin isnt just a great coach, but a great man." (Cristobal)

Or he can continue A&M style "We frequently and habitually lose our drug tests here. Our compliance department is sooo silly."

Sumlin can recruit receivers well as anyone but I still don't think we land him. We seem to be in better shape for Christian Kirk anyhow and we are still in the hunt for Kirk Merritt (who has stated recently he wants to be a WR at the next level). Of course a talent like Johnson is something you welcome with open arms regardless but I do think his interest in schools like Oklahoma state and Texas Tech is legit because he can play full time right away as a true fish. And of course there are you guys who of course have a very legitimate shot being the state school in Louisiana and a top tier program. My guess it's 40%/30%/15%/15% --LSU/Tech/other/A&M. And I won't be surprised if this goes all the way til NSD.

No Sumlin has an out after next year in his contract. He is going to the NFL.

As for Tyron, why wasn't Sumlin his recruiter from the beginning if he wanted him so bad. Hmmm?

If A&M feels the need for Sumlin to take over recruiting responsibilities for Johnson then LSU or whatever school he is favoring is in a good spot.

When you throw for 500 yds a game then he will probably get his pick of receivers from the recruits. Now who would want to be a RB on that team...

Besides, he will be with the Dallas Cowboys next season...

Sumlin is too smart to work for that delusional old retard. Almost the equivalent of coaching with your hands tied and your balls cut off if you as me...

Why wouldn't Sumlin have gone to the NFL last year or the year before? He was offered the Eagles job and turned it down. He was also offered jobs last season and turned them down as well as USC. I don't think he's going anywhere any time soon.
