For sure. You are more of a pain, despair, and overall misery kind of guy.

I want everyone in the digital worlds to feel pain and suffer.

It's way more tactical than Skyrim. You have to learn each enemy and you can't just swallow a potion everytime you need a bit of health.

Did you make it past Asylum Demon?

I would guess not. I just ran around the tutorial tablets killing baddies, then went into like a town area and decided I didn't really want to get too involved just yet

The graphics and cut screens look awesome, and I plan on picking it up later, but right now I'm looking for something different and this combat is very much like skyrim

I an looking for party based, turn based combat rpg games.

I appreciate your trying to help me, and I understand this might be more of a challenge than skyrim combat, but it is still not what I'm looking for

Good luck. Most of the companies that used to make those types of RPGs have declared them archaic and a waste of time. They think no one wants them anymore despite fan outcry in the contrary.

You could try the Final fantasy Remake that just came out if you didn't play it the first go around. Eternal Sonata is a pretty fun one, Dragon Age can be set to be turn based. There just isn't a lot. Child of Light is supposed to be amazing.
