Desean Smith has some of the best hands you will ever find on a TE. That was the first ball thrown to him in the first game of the season. Cut the guy some slack, we are very lucky to have him on our roster and he will do BIG things for us!

until he does, let's not give him props. BUT, it was his first game and he is young.

I don't think Cam will drill their butts. This isn't Penn State.

He might. But he dropped an easy one...and looked bad while doing it. He was already going to the ground on a catch that he should have been able to handle while keeping his feet.

He looked good in the spring. He's just another young player that needs to put the jitters behind him.

Pass to Smith didn't hit him in the chest but was a very catchable ball. He didn't need to go down to his knees to catch it, but he did which lowered his head level making it more difficult to catch. If he caught that while staying up he maybe scores after the catch.

Who cares about the TE play? I never understood why people on here complain so much about lack of TEs in the passing game. LSU got out of there with a "W". Do people really think that lack of production from the TE position is holding the team back?

We need to go balls out to win these games in style and build some swagger among the young players. Want to see Jennings continue to get more experience tbrowing. We don't need to grind out a 31 to 24 win against these teams. We need to put the hammer down
Les and Cam will not "open" the playbook against rent-a-wins...

It makes your team versital smarty. Confuses defenses keeps the very talented honest and cover the whole field. Not just using the TEs but the way you use them, if the D thinks they only block and they go out 10 or 15 yards with no one paying attention bc they are double teaming your best options, they can score and next time that D will not double team. So yes it can absolutely affect the team!

I really would like Coach Miles and/or Coach Cam to address this issue at the press conference. Why was the TE play so abysmal? In other words, WTF is going on with developing our TEs. If it's coaching, then own it and say so. And secondly, what are they going to do to make it better. Do they have plan in place specifically to address it? Do they need to call in some sort of TE whisperer? Seriously?

Absolutely. Jennings needs that security blanket to throw to. Idk if Jennings struggles with those throws but I was surprised there wasn't a lot of short or intermediate passes thrown over the middle

They rarely gave him any checkdowns, and only had him in one read situations. I'm guessing that part of it was because the oline was was a joke and part was that they didn't trust him because he is young. I say, take the kid gloves off. He's been in the system a year, and he seems confident in his abilities and command of the offense. Polish him in practice on getting more touch on his screens, work on his pitch game, and give him more options to process.
