Prayers sent Meaux..

By any chance, did it happen in Gibson out of Bayou Black Marina? I was there yesterday and saw a bumble bee bass boat come in that had slammed hard into a cypress tree.. Hope that wasnt them.

My in laws were fishing in Bayou Black and they called 911, after being notified by another boat that there's been an accident
We've been wondering if everybody is ok.
Pretty sure the boat was a Bass Cat.
The area (Shell Canals) has recently seen more than it's share of boating accidents.
The problem is it saves maybe 1 minute total to get to the intracoastal, but has 4-5 90 degree turns. Which our boats tend to "hook" if not driven correctly.
When that happens you are sol.
Recently there's been several "giant" logs, trees and debris just popping up in the main drags.
Not sure where they coming from but I now just go straight out to Intracoastal, not worth it unless I'm scouting that particular canal system.

Sounds like the Bayou Black accident was a different one unless he was transferred to New Orleans.

Yes. That article is correct.
From his brother

"To bring everyone up to speed. On Monday, September 1st 2014 about 12:00 pm. ____ and _____ were involved in a major boating accident while returning to the landing on there father/son fishing trip. They were traveling back towards the boat launch when they struck a object under the water. This in turn made the boat veer abruptly to the left. Ultimately slamming the boat, _____, and ____ into two trees. The first responder was a seventeen year nursing veteran Daniel"

Why the protection of his name? Never know who might know the guy and not know he was seriously injured.....

Prayers sent. Terrible end to a great day outdoors with his child.

because it's not my place to mention them in an anonymous internet thread.

this is a chance i'm willing to take out of respect for the family, especially since they have school age children.

No problem and it's a personal choice. Personally, if I knew the guy, I would love to find out by any means necessary my friend was in critical condition and I could maybe help his family.

Works both ways and I understand both. I really meant after this much time and having it on the news and stuff.

Praying for the best for your friend.

That boat looks just like the one a poster on here used to own. Morningwood, is that your old boat?
