He will play if he's able to. We don't land a guy like Dupre and tell him to redshirt. That's a good way to create a disgruntled player.

It's not like he's not good enough to get on the field. He got some great reviews in camp.

redshirt him we got plenty of WR's

And Dupre could be the best 1... Why do people think he should be redshirted??

Arguably our most talented WR, and if he's not then he's the 2nd most talented WR. He can do things at the WR position that nobody else on the team can do. He's compared to AJ Green for a reason. He can go up and make plays over DBs and make that "wow" catch look easy. He's a stud.

And don't tell me it's because he's too light... He's gained 10-15lbs already and you can tell.

He's not Julio Jones out there. But he's def not too light to play.

And I agree we have a really good core in Dural, Diarse, and Quinn. And Dupre makes that core that much better. You don't redshirt him.

Maybe a redshirt so we can have him longer

I don't care if we never redshirt a player again. Too many guys are leaving early. No point in getting an extra year of eligibility that never gets used.

Exactly. This isn't 1994. If a player isn't injured he's playing.

5th year seniors are going the way of the dodo.

If Dupre is ready to play, you play him. If he is injured, you have the luxury (thanks to #83, #9, #8 and hopefully #1 and #2) to let him fully heal.

What if Dupre isn't as good as #83, #9, and #8?

Hes not far behind. He was working with the first team plus WR is no the most difficult position to learn. We could never have too many offensive weapons and when hes healthy he will get significant playing time because hes a big target.

Fair point. I think many suspect he is as good.

But even if he is a step behind, you want to get him experience, particularly in the next two games, in case one of those guys gets injured.

I have no doubt he will play when he is healthy, but I don't think he will start. And by start, I mean that he will probably be 4th or so on the list of receivers getting snaps in the game.

Having the #1 HS WR recruit as your fourth best option at WR is a good luxury to have

This. Ol' Ocho Cinco (not that Dupre is anything like him) couldn't grasp the playbook at Oregon St... T.J. Whosyourdaddy had to tell him what to run in the huddle every play. He didn't do too bad. For a moron.

We'll we had the #1 high school dual threat qb at LSU for four years, and he never played a lick of qb for us. Rankings, schmankings. Kid has got to beat out those guys in front of him, and they ain't too shabby.

Dude... Dupre was running with the 1s before he got hurt. It was Dural, Dupre, and Diarse early on wth Quinn right behind them. And it's not like Dupre hasn't practiced or anything like that. He has practiced a good bit and he's into the playbook just like Quinn and other true freshman. He's not playing catchup. Valentine is playing catchup. Dupre isn't.

When he gets healthy, Dupre is gonna play and play a lot. He's arguably are most talented WR on the team. He's gonna play a lot.

Yep. He'll either be back for ULM or MSU. I don't think we see him next week.

He's not cracking the starting lineup this season. He's too far behind. Game weeks are not the time to play catchup.

I'm going to go ahead and say it...

Dupre isnt going to make an impact this year. He is coming from a veer offense and has a lot to learn. His time will come but we have some really talented ready to go wide outs right now in Dural, Diarse and Quinn.

I want to clarify this by saying Dupre WILL most definitely play this year and might be our best redzone target but I would not be surprised if he ended up 4th on the team in catches/yards.

Chi has worked since April on route running and catching balls from Jennings and Harris..He is the most talented WR on the roster...book it!! Les likes WRs who run block.. Look no further than the offense John Curtis offense; Chi did a lot of run blocking...As soon as he is cleared, he will be on the field...

LOL you are being silly. Once Dupre gets in, we will be even more ridiculous at the jump than we already are. We need to start running a 3 wide base set. Diarse/Quinn in the slot, Diarse/Quinn as the Z, with Dural at the X. Dupre backs up Dural.

I'm not being silly at all. Dupre is coming from an offense not even close to ours. He never got the ball nearly as much as Quinn did either.

Dupre is absolutely a big time talent but it takes time for someone to come from what he did into our system, especially not even being an early enrollee. Now he's even missing more time being injured.

Dupre will be a big time WR down the road for us but I dont see him coming on till the 2nd half of this season.

Dural, Diarse and Quinn are ready to go right now.

He's no prodigy . He needs to acclimate just like 7 . When he's healthy he needs to start taking his lumps and he will take his lumps.
