I knew a girl who was born a hermaphrodite. Back in the 70s the prevailing wisdom was just to make the baby a girl. She later went on to have the surgery to become a man. She/he always looked manish.
My mom ran into (now) his mom a few months ago. He is happier now than he's ever been.
Not sure if this counts because it was switching back to what nature intended.

3 girls I grew up switched after high school
2 girls from college switched
1 guy I went to college with is now gay, another is on his way to becoming a woman and his wife has left him. Both were christian ministry majors.

I don't think anyone ever "switches." It's always there and it's just a matter of if they choose to accept themselves or not.

I agree. Now that I think about it I should have saw the signs earlier that my friend was gay. But didn't know any better at the time.

This guy I had a politics/gov't class with in high school was always SUPER conservative during class discussions. Christian right wing burn the gays type stuff. Well now he is one, and not just a normal gay guy. I'm talking about as flaming as Liberache, marching in pride parades with a banana hammock and a feather boa and stuff.
