How come Chick-Fil-A and Cane's can always seem to find extremely polite and competent employees while a place right down the road hires crap? Do they just pay more? Or are they just smart enough to not hire these idiots? Do they just create an atmosphere that up and coming teenagers and college students don't mind working there? Why have other fast food chains not found out about this?

I would think it's a lack of decent applications. (I manage a business that pays really well, still hard to find good people.) Uneducated southern people also tend to feel overly entitled, and most would rather collect a free check. Getting fired grants them an unemployment check! That said, the Whataburger in my town has great service, it's also staffed with really sweet old women.
