You sound like a dork. And it's not my fault, it's the government's fault. Im just paying your bills.
No, it's not your fault. And if the DEA and gov't would stay out of it and let the state medical boards handle it, we'd all be cooler. But you obviously don't give a shite about my license or career. So, why should I or any of my peers give a shite about you having to come in for a visit? I have to do bullshite stuff everyday that cost me money to provide my patients with care. If I have to document all this shite, there's gonna be a charge. And they won't let us charge unless it's face to face.

no, I think it just means the script is only for a 30 day supply, which can be refilled every 30 days. No 90 day supplies, or going by the pharmacy 2 weeks early to get your refill.
No I am pretty sure you get three separate scripts. All dated on the day written, but the second and third will say "may fill on x-x-xxxx" thirty and then sixty days after the date prescribed

Yeah it's no less hard to hook friends up/stockpile if you were so inclined (I'm not, because as already established I take prescription medications VERY seriously). You'd just up your prescription and save the extras. You could be sitting on a 6-month stockpile within a year fairly easily.

I have to go in physically every 30 days to pick it up. And my doctor seems cooler than most IMO.

Doing some brief reading on prescription drugs of the sort, it sounds like we are just about the only country with as heavy of regulations.
"The United States makes up only 4.6 percent of the world's population, but consumes 80 percent of its opioids -- and 99 percent of the world's hydrocodone."
quote:
The only thing this type of regulations does is lead people to looking for alternate means... Whether its abusing other prescription drugs in an attempt to get the same affect or beginning to use illegal drugs.
"Carolyn Alfieri, 41, from New York, suffered from chronic shoulder pain caused by years of playing the violin. When she was 26, she went to see a doctor who prescribed Vicodin. Over the years, she was given progressively more powerful pain relievers. She said she became so addicted that she was taking up to 75 pills a day. She said she eventually lost her teeth because of drug use. She said she she sold her violins and began forging prescriptions to feed her addiction.
"The progression happened very quickly," said Alferi. "It went from Tylenol with Codeine, to Vicodin, to Percocet, to the Oxycontin."
Seems like junkies are looking for alternatives without government intrusion.

Technically, we are not supposed to do this. I have, but I also tell them if you lose it...tough shite. I cannot rewrite a script for a lost C2. Have had it happen and I warned them. I have to assume they had the shite filled somewhere.

So wait a minute - you were just busting my balls over something, and now 5 messages later you post very clearly in a public forum that you are breaking a rule regarding dispersement of the same class C2 medications?

Mainly because other countries don't treat pain symptoms. In their "free" system, you just gotta suck the frick up and handle it. And we are a nation of pussies. Everybody wants to experience no pain at all and get a quick fix for everything.

Nope. Had documentation and will no longer do it at all. This was over 6 years ago. Now one month at a time only.

Did you try Provigil?

no worries - glad you got a chance to clarify.

I used to be way cooler, but we are not allowed to be. I haven't had any issues personally, but have had several docs I know get in varying degrees of trouble just for being too lenient or nice. Hell, they weren't even charging for the refills. So, even without a profit motive they were still accused of being pill docs.

I was going by my experience for concerta, which is cII. Not for hydrocodone. From what I gather, Dr can't post date, ie put a future date on script 2 and 3, but the prescribed on date is the same for all, and a note is made on 2 and 3 that they can't be filled until 30 and 60 days out from the prescribed on date. IDK what the regs are... That is just how it has worked for me the past few years and yes if I lose one it will not be replaced.

Why the frick would anyone need a months worth of hydrocodone?

Know someone who had scaffolding fall down on her neck at a Mardi Gras Ball.
She's been battling the pain for years.

Can't your Doc just fax it into Pharmacy.

I don't think people realize how much drug abuse stems from prescription drugs.
I know of countless incidents where kids have been kicked out of school for selling their Adderall.
Heck when my kids had their wisdom teeth removed, kids were contacting them, wanting to buy the Hydrocodone(might have been Oxy then).
Yep, maybe we're an over pre-scribed nation.

Morphine/Codeine (opiates) are used more in foreign countries, while Vicodin and Percocet (opioids) are used more in America.
But they're the same shite, for the most part.
