I thought it was pretty obvious Elway didn't want him around, even after winning a playoff game.
That didn't help him.
The media circus that surrounded everything he did didn't help either.

All I can say about Tebow is that he was a winner in college and had a good season in Denver in his only shot. Would have like to have seen him with a team that gave him another opportunity. Not a great QB at all, but had skills and played hard every down. Unlike a lot of other players.

False

I don't see why everyone thinks he'd be good at another position.

But that's just it. He didn't have a good season. It was the very definition of mediocrity. The only reason people even remember it was because they beat Pittsburgh, at home which meant no Ryan Clark.

He could bring a winning attitude to any franchise. A great QB?? NO, But put him at a H-back or TE and you would get solid results....

He led them to 6 straight wins and they made the playoffs because of it. Hell Dilfer had a shitty season in 2000. and yet he was on a team good enough to win the SB.

If your definition of "led" is that he was the QB on the field, then sure, he "led" them to 6 straight. The defense allowed fewer than 14 points in 4 of those six wins, but sure, we can assign victory to one player.

They made the playoffs because they were in a terrible division. Maybe if Tebow had "led" them to one win in their last three games, I'd be more willing to give him credit.

So you agree that making the playoffs shouldn't be the barrometer of a good QB.

The Sanchize made two straight AFC championship games, but no one on here ever defends him. Why is everyone so obsessed with a player that pretty much every NFL executive deems unable to play QB, and has been unwilling to switch positions?

I honestly think he would have found some sort of role in the NFL if it weren't for the circus that followed him.

I agree

but as a QB with the silliness that followed him I wouldn't want him on my team. If he were a TE/HB or FB he could be a role player with some value but that's not what TT wanted to be in the NFL

Agree the only way he will make it in the NFL is to switch... However there have been PLENTY of 1st round QBs that are/were far worse than Tebow.

I think now Tebow suffers from out of sight out of mind... You really think he'd refuse a deal to play another position?

that's the choice he's seemingly made, a lot of teams were probably interested in him for positions other than QB coming out of college but he always talked about wanting to play the QB position at the NFL level

Tebow ran a 4.71 at the combine. That was slower than 6 much bigger TEs and not in top 20 of running backs.

He also scored a 3/dumbass on the wonderlic.

He could still be in the league on max protect punt team but not much else.

I have no problem with what he did. In the NFL, it seems to me that if you want to be a Quarterback, you have to say you want to be a Quarterback come hell or high water. It takes supreme confidence. If you say, "well, I want to play Quarterback but I'm willing to do a few wildcat plays and run out of the slot to help the team," then guess what's going to happen to you? You're going to become the latter.

I will say this... If he doesn't want to be an nfl player bad enough, then he won't be

Because some people are just fricking stupid.

He's never caught passes. He's never run routes. He's never blocked. That must mean he'd make a great TE!!!!

They are somewhat different, but the results will be the same. If not worse for JFF.
