No I understand... Everyone in my family has glasses except me

I've already picked out my pair for when I need them. yes I already dress like an old man so these fit me perfectly. (completely serious)

Just saying...most guys look good with the right frames on.

Just go try on a bunch. Bring a female with you for her opinion.

Yeah, those are definitely what I'd be looking for. I like the ones bacon posted, I'm not into the "frameless" style.

I guess

I guess they are a little skinnier and they don't have the dots on the front. Are those women's glasses? I can't tell, I've been drinking.

Of course if you only wear one contact your depth perception will be fricked up. That's just common sense.

That's what I thought

Different issues with each eye. Ask a tennis player who wears contacts and you'll get good support for each of those options. Most choose not to use any corrective eyewear at all If they can get away with it.

To OP:

I can deal with the feeling of contacts and find them helpful for mundane things like driving, reading, computer work, etc. I find they do not help at all with tracking a fast moving tennis ball aimed at my face. Rx Costa sunglasses with yellow lenses seem to be my best option for tennis right now.

The best routine I've come up with so far is wearing my contacts for 4-6 hours a day to help adjust and wearing my glasses at all other times. I actually really like my glasses but hope I can adjust to contacts at some point. Glasses are weird with little things like lying on your side on the sofa. Kind of inconvenient but not life changing.

Neither am I. My frames actually look like a more feminine version of the ones I posted.

I think the black frames are so popular now cause they are flattering on so many different people.

I think my husband looks hot with his on actually.

It was just the reference to the Weezer song silly

Yankee....I just wear my contacts and with regular sunglasses.

Again...I don't wear my contacts/glasses 24/7 though. So sometimes I can go during the day without wearing either.

I'm telling you...contacts are not that bad. Get the daily disposable ones. That way you don't have to deal with storing them, etc. Wear them, throw them away before you go to bed.

Anyone else get glasses (and/or contacts) later in life?

I got them at the ripe, old age of 3+2 as well. They take some getting used to, and you'll get minor dizziness/headaches with each prescription change that will likely resolve within a few hours but could persist for up to a few days. The more consistently you wear them, the better off you'll be.

You're older and much more responsible (presumably) than the average person who gets their first pair of contacts, so I will warn you that if you go this route, you really should take hygiene seriously. Do not handle your contacts without washing your hands with soap and water first. Take them out each night and soak them in the recommended solution. Tap water is never a substitute for solution. Sleeping in them isn't really acceptable. It will happen, and that's OK. But don't ever plan to do it, and if you do it, make sure you use some form of rewetting drop immediately upon awakening if you choose not to remove the contacts.

Most of these rules are thrown to the wayside with little to no consequence by many/most/nearly all contact wearers. Unluckier ones get infections- the eye is irritated just doesn't feel right. If you're particularly unlucky, though, you could get a pretty serious and rapidly progressing corneal ulcer that can result in corneal transplant or, worse, the loss of the eye (or at least all the seeing functionality of it).

Again, now that you're older than the typical teenager getting their first pair of contacts, I urge you to take eye health/hygiene seriously. The consequences, though not necessarily common, do occur and are severe.

Worn glasses/contacts all my life. Just went into bifocals last year and that was the hardest thing in the world to get used to. I can't imagine how people ever get used to trifocals.

I'm wearing some wire frame blacks with tiny lenses now because I left my others in Austin with my SO.
