Actually, as of yet, my hawks haven't killed any snakes. They will if they spot one though, and that's fine. That's what hawks do. They kill and eat things. I do that also.
I just don't kill stuff for no reason.
Everybody hates my snake comments. I know. But, really, I'm basically just like the rest of you guys. I hunt, fish, drive a 4x4, and I'm as pro-gun as anyone in america. I'm just not scared of snakes.
If there's a venomous snake in someone's yard, I'm not going to give anybody too much grief for killing it. I grew up with the same mindset. I've killed rattlesnakes and copperheads myself. I just don't do it anymore. If there was a venomous snake in my yard, I'd get rid of it one way or another - preferably by relocating it. But, I get it if you guys just kill them.
But if they're out in nature, doing what snakes do, they really aren't a threat. I'm offering that point of view to you guys. They really are very cool animals if you can get over your fear and learn about them. Can they be dangerous? Sure. So can electricity. Just don't pick them up, and don't step or put your hands where you can't see and you're in no danger at all.
Now that I've changed all your minds, lets all talk about how cool snakes are.
