Mett doesn't have small hands. He appears to be slow and static in the pocket, making him more vulnerable to defenders swatting at the ball as they rush. At least that's how I've seen it.

Mettenberger is third among all quarterbacks (rookies and veterans) with 356 passing yards and is only one of nine with multiple touchdown passes. Likewise, his 105.7 quarterback rating is third overall, and his average of 11.1 yards is by far the league’s best, more than a full yard better than second place Blake Bortles, the first quarterback taken in this year’s draft and the only other rookie among the top 15 in that category.

While coming against teams in exhibition games, those stats are still eye-popping, especially when comparing him to say a Johnny Football.

Read some of the Titan MB stuff and he's already the future guy for them, just depends on when that coaching staff pulls the trigger.

Good to see Mett doing well.

He will have a good career if he can learn to gain confidence after an INT. I still think his biggest flaw was how he would get down on himself and go sulk over the the bench and sit down after making a mistake. If he can learn to take the occasional INT in stride, then he will demonstrate his leadership skills better to his NFL teammates.

Will he ever learn to secure the ball? He's good for one fumble a game. What's his deal with that? Small hands thing?

Two fumbles came on strips from his back side but I do agree he needs to protect the ball better and know that the pocket will break down if he sits back there too long.

Agreed. Never liked the sulking, leave me alone demeanor he sometimes showed at LSU.

But if he continues on the same path he's on now, that confidence will come. Way too early to say definitively but it appears he has a shot at a way above average pro career.

Always been his biggest flaw. He just has slow feet. But once he gets his NFL bearings, he'll hopefully use that big arm to throw the ball away instead of taking so many sacks/hits.

Still, my crystal ball says he'll be one of the most sacked QB's in the NFL, maybe going to be a career long issue.
