My grandparents live in Perryville and have family scattered from Bigelow to Houston. Beautiful area.

My parents have 46 acres that belonged to my grandpa on the Fourche river. There are some pretty good bucks around that area. A lot bigger than the pine deer at our lease

Bottom deer are harder to hunt but boy to they pay off when you find them.

This one is going to be rough.

I had shoulder replacement surgery in late December. While it feels great compared with before I am dreading pulling my bow back to start shooting for the season. Been looking at it sitting in the corner calling my name for over a week now.
Guess I'll give it a try this wknd. Should be fun.

I'm taking October 1st and 2nd off (assuming the weather is ok). Then I am off of work for October 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 13

So 2 days of vacation time and I can hunt 9 out of the first 13 days of October

Goals are to shoot a pig, deer, and turkey (fall season) with my bow for the first time. Hunting in Alabama. Using a bowtech experience.

40 DAYS SON!

quote:

What are your goals this year?

- Gonna try and stick a hog with my bow this year.
- Also, hope to finally pull the trigger and
upgrade from my Bowtech to an Elite setup.
- Deer or hog with the pistol

quote:

What have you done so far to prepare?

- Have only been checking cameras, keeping
feeders full, scouting, and prepping food
plots.
- Hope to have all planting done by September
20th. Gonna try out the Buck Buster Premium
seed mix which should give us some good spring
and summer nutrition as well being it has
chicory and clover in it.
- Shooting every evening I'm home before dark.
Try to shoot 3 sets of 3 from 10, 20, and 30
yards

quote:

What are you going to do in the near future? (stands, plots, etc..)

- Need (1) new lock on in both LA and MS.
- Hoping to widen/extend a few shooting lanes in
the thickest parts of the lease in Melville

quote:

Where ya hunting?

- Melville, Louisiana
- Madison County, Mississippi

quote:

What ya shooting?

- Bowtech Tomkat / Easton Bloodline 330 arrows /
Rage Hypodermics (2 blade/100 grain)
- TC Venture .308 / Barnes VOR-TX 168 grain, TTSX
BT
- SW1911 E-Series .45
