If you'd fry it up and drizzle some watermelon on it, Efe Ambrose would probably take a bite.

To be honest, I saw it while looking through them and did it along with the NY Cosmos icon so I wouldn't forget.

The plus side is that I just realized that the /r/soccerbot app gives each teams unique identified (numbered 1-500) in the source. So, after coming up with a ridiculous grid system and a whiteboard to do 100 of them, I can now set get each team in each league's id's and then just go to the corresponding filename instead of the x,y naming system the splitter gave. We should have all 500 icons available, but I don't know if Chicken'll grant that many.

We'll definitely have all the teams that people on this board support though. I made sure that the Championship gets some love so the two Leeds fans can play as well.

Yeah. I had to double take when sorting that one into the Championship along with Derby County and Charlton Athletic.

I just processed this in my sleep deprived state. Basically, the CSS method allows you to load one small picture, like the one of all the crests in the OP, once and use CSS to split them up and use them where needed. Right now, there's a file loaded for every single instance of the icons. That really rustles the server's jimmies. It helps to keep your bandwidth usage low and provide a much larger array of icons or sprites or logos with a boost in page load times, which is huge for people using a mobile device. Keeps that data usage lower by fractions. This is the end of my nerd education on the subject. I promise. I just enjoy giving the fine people who run this site a hard time.

It's a good idea, but if the mods aren't willing to add MLB teams, I'd say our chances of adding soccer crests are slim.

Exactly. It took them forever to add a Louisiana pro team (Hornets and now Pelicans). There are only two professional logos on TD. This will not happen until all of the NFL, MLB, and NBA teams are given logos.

So maybe if we (by we I mean Dijkstra) put all of those together, they would let us do it. It's only like 100 more teams to do the American big 3.

I do not know if they care if the work is done. People presented them with Hornets and Pelicans logos for a long time with all the work done properly for months or more. It is a cool idea and everything, but the efforts will probably amount to nothing.

I love this place, but sometimes the lack of democracy is frustrating.

The NBA would be ridiculously easy, as would the NFL. They both use the same flair set up. The only reason it's so tough for the club crests is that there's 1-3 leagues in every god damned country on Earth, and /r/soccer has no organization on their flair. It's like a hardcore "Where's Waldo?" If it'd help us get crests, I'd do other leagues. I'm just not sure those fascists in charge will allow us to offer this service.

I think a lot of it comes with a pedestrian, outdated design. Like I said before, their design makes it much more hassle to add them in because they're working with serving a file for every single icon. It's a lot of work for little payoff. Every part of me wants to write a solution to this problem and just leave it here for them to use or ignore and disappoint the people. The Soccer Board deserves some love! I mean how much work could it be to add the BPL teams.

I just think it's a little absurd that every college football team gets one, and yet, a massive portion of the userbase who follows professional sports can't have them added provided they do all of the work themselves. It's not like we're demanding they do anything. If they're given to you, it should be a given.

We will not give up! We will not surrender! We'll probably just be ignored, but damnit, it's worth it to me.

I totally agree. The forum has clearly evolved from an LSU forum to a college sports forum to an every sports forum. The badges should evolve with the times.
