Ditto.

I like this incarnation of the Doctor.

I liked the entire episode. Couldn't find much to not like. My only question is...

SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T YET SEEN IT...

The doctor brought the Dinosaur to London, right?

How did the clockwork people know that the dino had a part they could use? I guess they scanned it or something? Or did I miss something?

And we have another use for the sonic scredriver: Detaching a horse from it's reins.

And I don't see why there can't be a Who-Sherlock crossover. So what if Sherlock was never in any way SciFi, as Mark Gatiss said. Neither were Van Gough, Charles Dickens and Shakespeare and they made episodes about them.

Nope.

And Jenny was unbelievably hot in this episode.

Well they were humans. I don't remember offhand him visiting characters from literature except in the mind robber when they weren't real.

Not that I'm opposed to this.

Clara asked them about that. It was inferred they have actually been on Earth since the days of the dinosaurs.

Has anyone jumped the gun yet and watched the two other leaked episodes?

I broke down and did it yesterday.

I wouldn't know how. (Thankfully, because I don't have to fight the urge.)

They are black and white workprints without the finished effects, sound and music.

I started watching episode 1 pre-air then decided to hold off until the finished episode aired.

Depends on how bored I get this week, Always possible boredom compels me to watch 2 and 3.

Yea I wish I would have held off, because the workprints contained some seriously shitty special effects.

Who is the lizard lady and why is she there? Also, who's the short fireplug looking alien that says the funny shite about killing people?

Didn't know that. But at least he was likely a real historical figure, augmented by legend. I just don't recall any famous purely literary characters appearing. I haven't seen tons of classic who though so this may not be true.

She's a Silurian. They used to be the dominant species on Earth in the dinosaur era but went into hibernation and never woke up, allowing humans to take over. Many have woken up over the years and most have been pissed at humans for taking over but I guess she's more open minded.

I guess since she's a native of Earth she never left once she woke up.

He's a Sontaran. They're Doctor Who's answer to the Klingons: a warlike species that finds honor in combat. More brutal and less about personal honor, though. And they're all clones.

Here's the backstory on Strax specifically, though, about why he's more chill than the typical Sontaran.

I don't remember any and all of the people mentioned by the poster are real. I think he might have had a temporary brain fart.

Perhaps the doctor will meet Sir Arthur Conan Doyle but not his fictional character Sherlock Holmes.

However, we do know there are alternate universes so it is possible with an infinite number of universes that Sherlock exists.

Does anyone know if Romana ever returned from E-Space?

I think is a better idea.

I really like The talons of weng chiang, which has a very Sherlock Holmes feel to it. Even tom baker's costume is altered to look like sherlock.

So basically none other than in the mind robber, where they were created from imagination.

Seems I saw an episode with them where they tried to take over the world because someone drilled a mine on their underground home. Just assumed they were bad.

Thanks for the link.

In "A Good Man Goes to War," Vastra and Strax are both shown to have become indebted to the Doctor.

After *spoilers* Strax dies in that episode, Vastra resurrects him and convinces him to join her *endspoilers*

Only the Daleks and (arguably) the Cybermen are pure evil in Doctor Who.
