They want Ruth to step aside now. Onething Obama is,and thats a very smart politician. And your right, if they can get Holder Nominated soon enough, the democratic turnout would be enough to keep the senate. Cant blame him, id do the same thing.

I like your thinking. Black folks don't usually turn out for midterm elections, but if they knew Holder needed them to get on the SCOTUS, the 2014 Black turnout might exceed the 2008 Black turnout.
Losing the senate doesn't hurt Obama with his appointments to the SCOTUS but it does for the lower courts.
