It's kinda like standing up at someones wedding and talking about how good a lay the bride is. It may be true but is it the time and place for the conversation?

No....what?
No.No.No

This is the worst analogy I've ever read here.

Open letter from one cop to another.

Police are another obstacle in our journey forward to an age where citizens self-discipline and work toward the collective well being. If the disenfranchised minorities could only boost ~300 more 52" plasma TVs, the proletariat would seize the upper hand.

I predict that if Wilson is charged, the job of breaking the news to the public will fall on the Governor or Attorney General, but if he's not charged the job will fall on Ron Johnson.

Judging by the St. Louis crime rates he died not do a very good job.

The police don't really have much of a choice as to how crime-ridden their city is.

They can only clean up the mess after it has happened and manage mayhem to the best of their ability.

The difference between the crime rate in St. Louis and a place like Provo, Utah has nothing to do with how competent the chief of police is.

What are the St Louis Crime rates? There is only really a couple of "high" crime zips in the whole area.

Do you even understand the dynamics of the St Louis area?

People parrot this shite all the time. St Louis City has like 280k. The whole area has 3.2 million.

If you're asking what orders he was GIVEN, no, he was IN charge.

If you're asking what orders he GAVE, obviouly not to protect the most obvious potential looting site.

Short of being God or Governor, he was given orders. Do you know what those orders were?

He was put in charge of security. I would think that gives him authority to post up a dozen of the hundreds of available officers answering to him to Ferguson Store. Call me nuts.

Do you? Link?

Cause you were already wrong about law enforcement supporting him in general. Unless you can back that up with a link, not a few random examples.

Article I linked says open letter is getting shared a lot. I think that is because most agree with it.

Well, I disagree with her assessment and think it is part of the problem within the black community - namely letting defense of a fellow black person take precedent over reality.

Why do you automatically assume this? Couldn't it also be the other way around - namely White cops sticking up for a fellow White officer regardless of what the facts are?

Still, at about 35 murders per 100,000 residents in 2011, St. Louis claims the third highest homicide rate of any major city.

Crime index*: 3.63

Population: 320,454

Murder rate (per 100,000): 35.3

In 1994, Morgan Quitno (a private research and publishing company purchased by CQ Press in 2007) began publishing reports that named St. Louis City among the "most dangerous" cities in the United States. Although the methodology for the reports changed during the 1990s, St. Louis retained its ranking in the top ten most dangerous cities, and it was named the most dangerous city in the United States three times, most recently in 2010.

Does this about cover it?

Right is right. Someone sure needs to say something. The guy that did autopsy said that the number of shots was was not police protocol. Well there were no shots to the back. Wonder why? Oh was he running towards the officer while the officer was shooting. The last 2 shots were to the head. Oh I wonder why, the big bull was coming and the arm shots were not working. But he was still coming.

I'm not a cop. And I would never run towards someone shooting at me. Oh wait. I just robbed a store now can't nobody do anything to me because I'm superman.

I'm sure you think this sounds profound, but the facts in this case support the officer. (up to this point)

All the facts aren't even known at this point, so all you or anyone else can do is engage in idle speculation and conjecture. Anyway, do you believe that White cops are immune to tribalism, and that it only affects Black cops?

Unless you consider a gentleman in Gulf Shores inserting himself into a St.Louis decision along with a few twitter-type followers as "in general", I'd have to ask you for a link as well.

"You couldn’t have a better partner for the region. He’s smart, he’s professional, he comes from the area," St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson said of Johnson.

The evidence at this point has shown either inconclusive at worst or that the assailant was shot for assaulting an officer. Rational people would have never started rioting and destroying their own neighborhood; somewhat rational people would have said "hey, maybe we're wrong" and stopped destroying their neighborhood.

And I won't even entertain your question, I am well aware of the thin blue line and hate it, but this is not an either-or. Just because blacks are acting like they still live on another continent doesn't mean the cops are angels and vice versa.
