I wonder if Miller will reconsider his pledge since he's doing so well. How's the ballot measure doing?

Maybe one pctg. point difference right now. I'll be shocked if it passes. Guess it will end up being Palins legacy.

I know you didn't direct that to me, but have to assume he will stay with that pledge, especially since the media in Alaska gave it heavy play since the debate. He would just split the Republican vote and Begich would win by 12-15 points. Miller seems to detest Begich more than he does Murkowski, Sullivan and Treadwell combined.

Yep, with 142 of 441 precincts reporting, it's :

YES - 50.4%

NO - 49.6%

Now 32% of vote counted, trends not changing right now:

Sullivan - 39.1%

Miller - 33.2%

Treadwell - 24.6%

No real movement by any of those 3 guys as the percentage of votes cast works it way up.

I'm surprised Miller is doing so well and Treadwell so poorly. Treadwell is a bit socially inept though.

Figured Sullivan would win. He's run a very professional campaign. I think he beats Begich. Begich is really counting on women to help him out and he's pushing the "reproductive right" angle pretty heavily.

Ak. is one of the most heavily unionized States but Dems can't count on the union vote. Ted Stevens and Don Young both Rs were popular with union members.

Painstakingly slow (it's 3:09 AM here in NH), but now 56% reporting:

Sullivan - 39.6%

Miller - 33.0%

Treadwell - 24.5%

Ballot initiative/referendum:

245 of 441 precincts reporting:

YES - 49.02%

NO - 50.98%

Jaramillo - 2.9%

NO - 52.06%
