The small earthquakes that happened in Arkansas recently, are they from gas fracking or from natural causes?

Who knows?
Like I said earlier, it all comes down to stress relief in rocks. Too much stress = Earthquake.
And relatively recently it had a big stress relief.

It says there was 3 earthquakes including a 7.7 magnitude earthquake in 1811 and 1812. But after that it's had small ones. Small ones relieve stresses over the longterm.

I'll third the question about how "due" the New Madrid fault is, and potential devastation.

I'd rather not get into that. You can do your own research on that. You'll get tons of literature either way.

The building I work in downtown okc shook this morning. Been through a few here you could feel, first time ever feeling it make my building sway.

I partly talked about this in an earlier question.
For devastation, look at the Mercalli Scale for earthquake intensity. It is a qualitative measure of the earthquake's destruction. Since many buildings over here are not to code to handle earthquakes I imagine a lot of destruction.
But if you were hiking in the woods above the fault you wouldn't be hurt. It's mainly human made structures and secondary effects that are destructive and deadly.
I don't think there's ever been a case of an Earthquake directly killing anyone, unless they intentionally jumped into a chasm that formed, but that doesn't really happen.

Yes! Just like when we talked about volcanoes, the more frequent the eruption the less likely you will have an explosive one due to all the stress being relieved frequently.

Good question. Seismologists study earthquakes using seismometers, which track the movement of the land horizontally and vertically. Their read outs are seismographs. Seismic activity is anything that is picked up by the seismometers.
Tracking horizontal movement
Tracking vertical movement
All movement in earth is due to propagation of seismic waves: the result of particles bumping into particles. In the first post you can see the 3 different types of waves and how they move through the earth.
You make a P wave when you talk. You move air particles from your mouth to your neighbors ear.

That's a good tie-in to what we talked about for volcanoes. Volcanologists and Seismologists work hand in hand to predict eruptions.
Just as I said earlier, the more frequent the eruption, the less explosive the eruption.
However, if you start picking up lots of seismic activity after a long time with no eruption, plan on evacuating, cause it's gearing up for an energy release.
