They should have a go-pro constantly on them. If it is turned off for any reason, the officer should immediately be suspended.

i can't see a reason why they shouldn't be on every officer in america next year.

The only people that complain about them are police unions, as they know it will mean they can't protect the worst of the worst in cops.

What other profession has the power to make arrests and employ lethal force?

Name another profession that can walk into a courtroom as the sole witness to an offense and have their word taken as gospel, which then precipitates in locking another human being in a cage.

I'll wait.

Not while they are dealing with the public, no.

The people that scan documents for the IRS and other legal documents.

No, I'm trying to head off the "well there is a corpse in front of me and my camera wasn't turned on." issue.

Didn't read thread. IMHO an honest, responsible LEO should WANT such a device to protect him/herself from public emotions rather than facts.

I guess if we wanted to be technical but Id consider death by suspect and death during a chase to be true line of duty dangers. The just being killed in a traffic accident while being on duty would be being killed while being at work. either way law enforcement isn't as dangerous as some jobs
