Hey my heart.

I liked him too..... he actually told you how to cook and not where to eat. I was young when he was last on the air.

The velvet voice of Tom Fitzmorris. I haven't listened in awhile has Carl the gourmet truck driver been calling in?

And what is the creme soda thing he makes?

I have a chow number from many years ago. I also went to an eat club dinner a long time ago at Impostatos. He brought about six nice bottles of wine and shared them all. He gets a bad rap and he can be an a-hole but he can be a nice guy too. He loves what he does and pounds the pavement to sell his advertising to keep his show.

Is he coming to you live from the Cool Water Ranch?

You are correct. But is he a black gentlemen?

Does he still call in?

Fitzmorris had nice things to say about Marcello's. You need to check it out. Text me and let me know when you are going and I will make sure you are well received.

When I call in, I try to get in a subtle dig at TF. Once he was talking about cookbooks. I called and asked him what cookbooks he would like to add to his collection. He started to give me recommendations, and he mentioned that he did a collection of New Orleans recipes. I said, "Oh yeah, I have that one! I got it at a garage sale for 50 cents". He muttered something under his breath.

What's his most recent cookbook? Isn't there one published shortly after Katrina? And why was he in DC after Katrina? Seems kind of far away

This is his only cookbook, although he did edit Andrea's cookbook, and has at least one non-cookbook book.

ETA: His "Lost Restaurants of NO" has a few recipes in it, but is not really a cookbook, per se.

I think his wife's sister lives or lived in DC at the time.

I don't think he's black. Yes he still calls. He sounds like a fat white man to me.

I think TF is getting old. He sure has had trouble remembering names and places lately.

I've been listening since the mid 90's.

It used to come on at night from 7-9 back then.

Meh, I think he's always been befuddled. I appreciate what he's been able to create over the last couple of decades, but he really is a hack. The one thing I do notice is that he occasionally completely misses the point of a caller. Just sails over his head and he takes off on a tangent.
