OP edited to catch up with todays action.
Added a "purgatory" group to make it easy to keep up with mulligans. Also, edited pick times to kick off. Will everyone please stick with the pick format so we can all be on the same page? It's really not that hard to:
1. team
2. team
3. team
4. etc
I'm not keeping track of teams picked in the OP, but I will check edit times of people posting picks.

How do you resuscitate from purgatory back to alive? After the third correct pick in purgatory?

There is no resuscitating from purgatory. I think someone that can win without missing a pick should get some recognition. Same as a mulligan, but the poster that wins outright should be recognized.

I like the idea of having two chances (the catholic dogma was a nice touch). I think you'll find that a straight single elimination contest will end rather quickly. I would, however, recommend that you include a list of the games to pick from each week in the OP, a simple copy and past from the PL site would work.

I have never been part of a survivor with mulligans, but I do like this idea I have come up with. You get a mulligan, but not stay in the top flight. Should probably change it to BPL, Championship, and Dead.
