ey may also do it to get their bama bumps....lol
I think it's more of a case of the prospect thinking if Bama offered, "I must really good."
ETA: not knowing that they offer kids to keep them away from a rival.

In some cases, I think it gets them noticed by other programs or increases their perceived value.

Spot on; couldn't have said it any better
LSU is no slouch, but if Bama offers first, I understand a local kids decision. However, if they flip to the good guys

"He flipped from Bama to LSU? He must not be as good as we thought. Saban must have backed off on him. He probably deserves a drop in the next ratings update"

it's just incredibly difficult to keep out of state kids that commit so early

LSU has a better shot at Mykel Jones next year than flipping Daylon this year. Unless things really heat up during the season or in January.

I'm very much an LSU fan, graduated from there last August. But now Coaching these guys and being around them a lot I realize the pressures of being a major recruit. As much as I want them all to attend LSU I realize it's not always their best choice for them to be successful. I will never tell them to go else where but I won't be mad or try and sway them if they pick another school.

Mykels top 4 are LSU, Texas, USC, and FSU. Texas is slowly fading now tho. He told me he wants to change his phone number right now bc they call him so much. He finds that very annoying.

As said before, Daylon never had an offer from LSU and when he got it he was very excited initially but now he's back focused on being committed to Bama and finishing his senior year strong. That's why I say things could change after the season is over in January. That being said LSU is still in the picture but it's not likely.

Thanks for contributing to the board w real info. It's tough though as fans to lose a player to the arch rival esp from a pro lsu area like Patterson. Hopefully he can see that he can get the same education and NFL prep close to home.

Looks like Charlot did not show up, and is visiting Bama this weekend. Many are quite disappointed.

why is he now saying he wants to announce at the All-Star game? If you have any influence, please ask him to not have an LSU hat on the table just to rub it in.

I will try! Like I said he's very focused on finishing his senior year strong and winning a state championship right now. After the season is over let's just see how things play out in December and January.

Also may want to mention to the kid if he wants to take a visit to LSU (and why shouldn't he?), don't blast it out to bama media sites. Kid deserves to be able to see the process through without heavy handed tactics from the other side. I highly doubt by his own volition he just up and decided to cancel his LSU visit this weekend and go to Bama instead.

You mentioned him having to make the best decision for himself...LSU had 3 receivers drafted last year...Bama has 2 receivers in the NFL, period. Objectively LSU would be a superior career choice, with lagniappe that he gets to play in front of friends & family. Not sure why that is so hard to see, but it's the kid's choice obviously. Good luck to him. LSU will be fine at WR regardless
