Wasn't looking for tips about reds. Got that tackle covered. Trying to catch a few trout in the am. I will figure something out

I've never fished inshore in grand isle. My in laws are looking for a camp there so this would be good info for me in the future as well. I would think the backside of the island would be turning on right now. But I'm used to cocodrie.

Also, I don't know why, but a woman holding a fish gets me. But a woman wearing camo (even a hat) automatically makes me think redneck crazy. I'll take my wife (or any woman) fishing, but keep that shite away from the hunting camp.

I would fish the rocks on the beach at sun up. I've had pretty good success with the trout recently there. However when I do this I find it to be a lot easier just to walk out there so I don't use my yak for this application. If you bring live shrimp you stack the deck in your favor, but last weekend they were hard to come by.
