We've done this before and I still say megatron. He would open everything up SO much. Jimmy would be even harder to cover. The running game would likely avg 5 ypc due to teams respecting our receiving targets. We'd sustain more drives score more which in the modern game helps the defense (especially a decent d like ours) more than any one defensive player would.

A dominant OT would be second choice.

IMO, you have to take a player that can not only help you, but also hurt the other teams who have a chance of knocking you out of the playoffs. So, which guy could we take that would help end Seattle's season? If not Seattle, which guy would ruin SF?

Taking away the best defensive player from a division rival is a good strategy as well.

Our pass rush was just fine, and I think adding Watt would only have a marginal increase. You wouldn't sit your run-stuffing DT/NT for him (occasionally maybe), so you have to sit Gallette, Jordan or Hicks.

Jesus, people still have absolutely no clue how good Watt is. To say you wouldn't sit a run-stuffing NT/DT over Watt is one of the most absurd statements you could make.

Hicks and Jordan appear to be very good players. Watt appears to be historically, Hall of Famely, redefine the position good. There's not a single player on our DL who you don't sit if gives you Watt.

End of story.

Obviously missed what I was saying. I was saying Watt isn't the big guy you put in to take up two blocks and clog up the pass and run lanes.

That means you'd take out a similar guy, like Galette, Jordan, or Hicks (to a lesser extent).

And my point then is that Watt isn't nearly the upgrade over those guys that Kuechly would be over Lofton or Hawthorne. I never said Watt wasn't better. Big difference.

It's about diminishing returns. We already have a very good pass rush. We have a very weak middle at LB. More help can be had there.

Megatron

JJ Watt a close second. Also hard to ignore Robert Quinn, I think he's the best pure pass rusher in the league.

At least he was last year.

Wasn't even the best LB last year, his first truly impressive season.

I'll admit Lovie's system is friendly to his talents though so he could have another one, but at this point he's a one year wonder.

ok first off.. he had the best stats out of any LB last year, and if you disagree, you either can't read or your a fricking retard...
and two.. he has played 2 years and was solid as a rookie, so how is he a one year wonder? those labels should be placed on people like flacco, edwards, holmes, anderson, etc.. so based on my evaluations you must be a fricking retard.

Peterson a lockdown corner, and would have the added dimension of maybe the best return man in football.

But would take Keuchly over Willis right now if you were getting a player for longer than one year.

Willis is 29 and has a much higher cap hit, while Keuchly is only 23.

Keuchly cuz he was a thorn in our side last year. But also cuz he would make our defense ridiculously good.
