I tried Mint about a month ago. While the food was good and pretty damn cheap, the service was lacking.

It took about 10 minutes for anyone to recognize we had been seated and then after getting the menu another 10 minutes for a drink order.

I had Mint for the first time last week and had the wings and the curry chicken app. Both were pretty good imo. I didn't eat there so can't comment on the service.

I tried it for lunch Sunday since Tan Dinh was closed for vacation and my experience was opposite yours. No service issues. No annoying music. Great food. The grilled shrimp in their bun was delicious. The tofu rice plate had a tomato sauce which was different but it was tasty. Nothing replaces lemongrass tofu from Tan Dinh though.

If I lived uptown, I would put it in the rotation. But living in the CBD it is easier to just hop over to the Westbank.

First and Last Visit to Mint (Posted on 8/12/14 at 9:36 pm)

Had to give it a try.

1. A bunch of twenty year old kids in the front of the house and tending bar. Nice enough but, honestly, not that into their job.

2. Absolutely horrible gold chain/strip club/97.1 muzak piped through the speakers.

3. Meh cocktails.

4. Below mediocre food.

Loved Lilly's when it first opened. I think she changed her tofu and it isn't as spicy, or I got used to Tan Dinh. My favorite server from Tan Dinh is there now, and Lilly is sweet. I just always end up on the Wank. I do need to try her veggie pho. Right now Pho Tau Bay is my veggie pho place.

Lillys veggie pho is great, only place I really order it. I've just grown tired of TD. PTB is my current go to WB spot.

No clue. Glass will be the director of it since he's been there hundreds of times .
