Is there any new rock albums now that doesn't sound so new wave? I feel like the new bands are going away from true alt rock.

I know it was in the youtube comments, but damn the opening guitar sounds like J Mascis... not bad, will prob try and spottily it this week at work..

Just pre-ordered the new Nude Beach double album today... comes out next month.. Their music doesn't scream out double album material, so it should be interesting...

Well that is an entirely different song from HEAL now, isn't it? You can't tell me the track HEAL doesn't sound new wavish.

I'm really digging the new New Pornographer after a couple of weeks of listening, its so effortlessly, easy, brilliant, pop... my favorite from them in quite some time... will prob make top 5

Contrary to most in the Ryan Adams thread, I love his new record... it has been in heavy rotation all weekend..

Anything with AC Newman, Dan Bejar, and Neko Case can't be bad, right? They're such a fun band live too. You can't help but smile, and just enjoy their output.

Another one I've been listening too lately is Typical System by Total Control. If you like your post-punk stuff.

Also gave Strand of Oaks a full listen today at lunch, and I'm very impressed. That record seems to have a little bit of something for everybody.

Alt J's new album "This Is All Yours" was leaked today.. Sounds great so far, a possible contender for the top 5

yeah, apparently spootfy screwed up real bad and released it a week early..

They still have that weird quirky sound to them despite being -1 bandmate.
