is there any specially way to boil them? Whats the differance between boiling crawfish and boiling crabs

Method I use that an old crabber told me:

Season your water.
Put crabs in.
Let them breathe in the water, you'll see the bubbles.
When the bubbles slow, turn on flame.
When water reaches boil, turn off.
Crabs are done then. No need to soak as they already breathed in spices.

I was skeptical about it, but it works like a champ.

They sell by the pound when they're smaller at most places.

A box is 100lbs or 2 1/2 bushels(5-8doz/bushel).

Your 100qt pot will be perfect for a bushel and fixins.

Like others said, ice down the crabs or you will have bodies with no legs or claws. Boil 5-8 minutes depending on how fast your water comes back to a boil. I use 1 bag of Louisiana Fish Fry Products(yellow bag)seafood boil for a 100qt pot.
