Yeah I'm an LSUCIA alum. I just made Senior. I quickly realized that the longer I stay in IA/Risk the longer I'm piedgeonholed in IA. I graduated with Finance degree but never gave anything in Finance a shot.
I've definitely looked into the IB profession, but it looks like MBA is the only option for that path. I figured at least I get my feet wet with Valuation before diving straight into an MBA.
On the burning bridges note, I might have to wait a while on that one. The sole Partner (or Principle I should say) is not a happy camper with transfers out of his group.

I kind of knew that. I probably would try to get in as an Associate however. But in any case after reading some of the replies here, I should probably look at other options like Consulting as well. I also need to do more research on what types of different roles are available in Corp Finance, Corp Development and Corp Strategy that might line up more with my interests. These are uncharted waters to me.
