I think anyone can put together a video, it's making it standout in ways that's tricky and dependent on your creativity. You obviously have creativity and artistic touch, I've seen your work on here. I'm a marketing and moving image arts major so I do a lot of this shite, but still have a lot I'd like to improve on, such as making it smoother and more polished in areas. It just takes time and some vision to go along with the tedious process of editing. I picture how I want it to look and a style and just go with it. That one I did last year stemmed from me just listening to the song I used for it and picturing how much of a disaster that season was.
If you're worried or confused about editing videos, it's not difficult to work. It just takes time and patience. I use movie maker on my mac, which is basic as frick.

I think I've used some form of time lapse in all of the videos I've made like this. I searched youtube and vimeo for 'New Orleans Time Lapse', and looked for things I felt would fit with the style. It adds some aesthetics to the video, whereas just putting highlights could get boring.

Anyone can put together a video, but what really makes it stand out is the music.
I went with a rocky-rolly type of feel. It's better than all that rap shite that you normally hear on videos like these. I majored in computer information systems, so I do a lot of this shite, I tried to go with something that gives you goosebumps instead of making you want to go out and steal from/murder people.
If you're worried about copyright infringement.. I used Microsoft Outlook on my PC, which is basic as frick, to email the owner of the track(s) and get permission.
