I like DFH.

They may not make the best beers on the shelf, but more often than not they have the most interesting beers on the shelf and they're far from bad.

Since IPAs seem to be the measuring stick around these parts, what's the best IPA we have available here in LA ? By available I mean I can walk into WF right now and buy it.

Pretty much. And the Centennial at the Metry WF was from March or April last time I was there. That's the problem...even when we get good IPA's, they sit on the shelf too long.

Right, because no breweries have entered the growing louisiana market at all in the last 5 years

Thats not the issue, what has Louisiana got that everybody else didnt have already? Why are surrounding States getting what LA is not? If LA is such a untapped winfall why hasnt FW made that hour jump from Houston, why did Deschutes launch in Texas and then Kentucky and Nebraska instead of making that same one hour jump from Texas to Louisiana? I mean, my God... Have they not heard that yall place bottle limits on Enjoy By yet?

I'm just engaging in conversation, dont like it then dont read it.

Anyhow, a couple of truths here. Lagunitas has the resources to do great things and doesnt because they dont intend to. They are perfectly content making entry level craft beers for entry level craft beer drinkers that are price conscious. Congrats to Louisiana!

Maybe the stores will place the Lagunitas brews between the Shock Top and Shiner Bock like they do here in Florida!

Second tier...

Ready set go!

Does West coast IPA really count as a single??

Sweetwater IPA wouldn't be far off that list for me.

The last time I looked at Stone IPA at Calandro's it was nine months old..

Lagunitas signed with the same distributor... So we have that to look forward to too.

That's a common problem down here in NOLA with several IPAs.

DFH's World Wide Stout is singlehandedly better than anything Lagunitas makes even when you factor in pricing. They also have a diverse lineup that includes something other than IPA's. Sure DFH throws some turds out there from time to time but at least they are trying to be creative and push the envelope a bit. I have no shame in drinking their brews.

Yup, In personally think the SoPro IPA is your best bet down here for a single IPA.

Bell's over Lagunitas?

I think so, yes, but that is not what I was saying. I was saying those were 3 breweries I'd like to see enter our market over DFH. Lagunitas is a done deal.

As far as neighboring states go: The Bruery, Sweetwater, Terrapin, Cantillon, Drie Fonteinen, Tilquin... off the top of my head.
