he definitely was decisive, leading post 9/11 was an easy task as we rallied behind him.

I'll give Bush that. Post 9/11 was a scary time and the guy was decisive, stalwart, like a rock etc etc. All the kinds of things people looked to in a leader in scary times. Unfortunately he decisively did a lot of things that were, well, garbage. I'm referring to the Patriot Act here in particular.

his intentions were good

his intentions are good, but he was surrounded by people who had bad intentions IMHO. He was deceived by his advisers

I think he gave his advisers (Cheney especially) too much of a leash. He was also probably naive in trusting people he appointed to the extent that he did. This includes both the intelligence RE: the Iraq war (and I would remind the board that Senators Clinton, Biden, and Kerry all voted in favor of this) and things like the bank bailouts.

He was a pretty shitty president. Obama isn't an improvement

God damn, since when did I start agreeing with Hawkeye so much...

GWB is going to go down as likely the worst president in the modern era

May or may not be deserved when held up vs Carter or Obama, but yeah this will most likely happen. He still isn't as bad as some of the Presidents we had pre-Civil War. That's less a statement of how bad Bush was and more an emphasis on how BAD some of our Presidents have truly been. I'm looking at you, Buchanan.

the denial is strong here. Bush was very unpopular across the board, not just with liberals.

God damn, more agreement with Hawkeye. WTF is going on...

I still greatly prefer Bush as a painter than a President.

If the liberals truly control the narrative to the extent that much of this board claims they do, then yes.

The perception becomes the reality in this case as who controls the past now controls the future, who controls the present now controls the past.

Personally I think Obama is a worse president, but I don't write any history books.

He either purposefully or unintentionally surrounded himself with the scariest staff ever. At some point that has to be on him.

I don't care if he didn't pay attention to the "Bin Laden determined to attack" memo's. Someone else in that room should have said something.

I'm in Dallas right now. The country misses him too.

What difference does it make?

You can circle jerk around his image all you want...but remember this. Barack Obama would not be in office today, if W had been a half decent president

Right...because blacks would not have voted overwhelmingly for him otherwise and voted for McCain instead.

Bartender, gimme what the incoherent idiot on the floor is having...I've GOT to try some of that.
