I would assume they weren't a party to this lawsuit & it was only the Estate of Kyle.
I assume he is investigating his legal options against the publisher who already backed down & removed the passage referring to Ventura from the book.

The irony in all of this is the idea that Jesse Ventura pursued this lawsuit to clear his good name, but this suit will likely do more to damage his name than that book could have ever done.
I have read that book and completely forgot about the part Chris Kyle is talking about until Jesse Ventura sued his estate. So in clearing his "good name," I have a lower opinion of Ventura now than I ever had before.

An interesting question. My guess is that Kyle originally wanted to just put Ventura's name in the book and the publisher said no because they could not vet the story. So Scruff Face was their work around. Then Kyle blew it up.

Funny thing is this asshat want's it removed from the books that go to print after this was awarded by the courts. This book has been on the shelves for almost 2 years now....good luck Jessie. Is he going to come and get my copy of American Sniper and black out the chapter?

If you don't know for fact, wouldn't it be fair to say that maybe JV was the one being wronged here?
And, what of the carjacking assertions? If they are unsubstantiated (someone dying in public is pretty easy to prove), does this not put into question other claims in the book?
