Well I'm sitting in their section and they still have plenty of tickets available on their website.

They have quite a few GOOD seats available through their site in question. They won't have more than 10-15k in there, from what that tells us.

There are tons of lower level seats on their sideline up for grabs. Maybe they'll fill out the uppers and club, but that remains to be seen...

Even though Houston is well known for it's rich history and cultural aspects, I'm not thinkin the Scoonies are going to be rushing down South in August.

10k max at the game.

LOL, are you TRYING to spark up the NOLA vs Houston crowd with this? (Houston wins, btw. But NOLA has culture!!!!!11)

Wisconsin will have around 10k is my guess.

Nobody is in a rush to go to Houston in August from up here.

This weather here makes Wisconsin a great place in the summer. Labor day weekend at the lake cottage or sweltering in urban Houston? Easy choice for most. Add in the fact we lost so much and QB situation is up in the air and I think we travel less for this one.Band isn't even coming-which sucks for fans at the game from both schools.

That said we really had a ton of fans in Tempe last September for ASU (25k range). But that is maybe more of a Midwest transplant area and it was on campus and not on labor day weekend and Phoenix is probably a more appealing trip than Houston.

Plus, fans know they have a shot at seeing LSU at Lambeau.

I expect we will travel better to Dallas next year to see Bama under similar cirumstances, but there is no return game from them and its Jerryworld and its Alabama.

Houston isn't very appealing. We would have more traveling if this contest was in Baton Rouge or NOLA. Enjoy the home game Tigahs

Not at all, I've lived in both cities. Houston has it's good qualities, just not a place I'd like to go for vacation.

Wisconsin has money and travels.

60/40 LSU.

ETA: Maybe I'm wrong. 80/20 LSU.

I've been to all of these neutral site games and at best it will be 60% LSU, 40% Wisconsin. There are always stories of how LSU had 75% of the crowd, but they are exactly that, stories.

Just out of curiosity, what was the crowd like at the LSU National Championship game against Ohio State?

It was about 70/30 LSU. Maybe 60/40. We heavily outnumbered Oregon in Dallas in 2011, but I expect Wisconsin to bring more fans that the Ducks did.

There are a good amount of UW alumni in the Phoenix area, but plenty also traveled from the Los Angeles area for that game.

I think this may be one of the main reasons. On top of the more comfortable weather in Wisconsin at that time of year + Labor Day weekend when many retreat up north, Wisconsin likely doesn't have many fans flocking to Houston.

I'm very excited for this game in Houston vs. LSU, but it seems a lot of people have their mind set on traveling to Dallas next season for the game against Alabama and heading up to Green Bay in 2016 for LSU. This is where my head is at, too.

Yeah, it's really too bad there weren't enough funds to send the band down to Houston.
