it's beloved by masses, period. it may not be perfect, but it deserves the love it receives. everything doc does and says is great.. and russell and sam elliot are both a man's man.

Dave Rutabaugh is an ignorant scoundrel! I disapprove of his very existence.

No. It's not.
Sure it is.
Start the weekly "greatest westerns ever" thread, and it will be mentioned often.
It shouldn't even be in the discussion.
It's like people mentioning The Sandlot as the best (or even one of the best) baseball movies ever.
It's ridiculous.

If you're being serious then I'm making a mental note to dismiss all of your future posts as the ramblings of a retarded howler monkey.

Don't mind him. He's just drunk, that's all.
eta: Though he probably should cut back on the crack some.

Dana Delaney doesn't need to say a word. She's way better looking than Kurt Russell. That's all that matters.

Everything is better without Dana Delaney

She played a historical figure who's kinda central to the whole Wyatt Earp saga, so it would be hard to do the movie without her.
And to the Dana Delany haters,

It would have been better without Jason Priestly.

The popularity of Tombstone (post-release, that is -- it failed at the box office) at least shows that the western format itself remains viable. And perhaps it might even lead a few adventurous souls to explore the true classics of the genre.
