I like the show.

The CDC chick is an awful actress, and the vampires are a little too similar to Blade 2, but other than that, i find it entertaining.

Don't know Blade, and I'm finding these vampires a refreshing departure from the True Blood and Twilight ilk.

I can't wait until everyone that threatens to quit watching every week actually quits watching. When I watch the show it seems like it is over in 15-20 minutes. Which to me means that it is a very interesting show.
That's my experience so far, too. Sure there are flaws in the show; there were in early Star Trek, in early X-Files, in early Walking Dead, in early Breaking Bad... (shall I go on?) as characters are being developed. But the premise of the show has roots in both science and superstition, current events and future possibilities (bad ones). Could wind up going apocalyptic like Walking Dead, where the zombie class are really some kind of parasitic vampire breed. But it may remain limited, more modest, with a political intrigue undercurrent working the CDC and Dept. of Health, Human Svcs. And peoples' personal lives being impacted.
Either way, I'm enjoying what I'm seeing.

Let the haters go watch something on their level and quit tearing it down for the rest of us. Too much group-think goes on around here sometimes.

All I know is that if I don't get closure on the construction of the game room in CDC guy's ex-wife's house I will be extremely disappointed.

I see this sentiment echoed by many. And it's bullshite. This grounds the story in reality and lends pathos to Eph. He is a hero we understand

It's supposed to ground the story and lend pathos, but fails.

Plus, the divorce side plot will have to take a seat faaaaar in the back of the bus once the disease becomes widespread. Eph and his ex-wife are not going to fight about their marriage when a mouth tentacle sucker thing is trying to grab their throats.

Comparing the flaws in The Strain to the flaws in BB should be criminal.

The Strain looks pretty and has a great concept, but it has some of the worst writing and acting I've seen on TV in a very long time.

Watched the first episode, it didn't hook me. Same thing with Tyrant. Deleted both from my DVR.

I like The Strain, it will get better now that the new vamps will get active. Will we start killing them? Who will do it? True Blood has wussed out and sucks now and the Tyrant sucks. I quit watching after 3 shows, no good. We are fighting those guys now, and more of them later.

I just watched some of this show.

Why in the hell don't people call 911 as soon as their penises disappear or when their spouse turns into zombies? Why would they let these sick arse people out of quarantine?
