Doesn't matter who we're playing they will be people watching, eating popcorn, watching the band, etc.,. Can't think of a better way to make a life time memory. Have a great time.

Do this for YOUR daughters IF you are able to reproduce.
God help your children if you have active swimmers.
You are a TPOS.

When I bring my little ones, I park (for free) behind Parker Coliseum off Stadium Drive and walk to the stadium. We always get invited to stop by a few tailgates on the way. Definitely see Mike and the players march to the stadium, and the band, too. Generally that's a good area to hang out with kids; there will be lots and lots of kids playing on the hill in front of the mass comm building.

Especially for non-conference games, I go without tickets in hand. As often as not I've picked up free tickets, other times, grabbed em for $10 a pop.

Have fun!

Things to see way before game;

Students and fans at Parade Grounds.
Maybe the RV world around Touchdown village
Some kid activities at the PMAC
Mike the Tiger Cage - get there early if they are taking him in the stadium he may not be there closer to game time.
Drum Corps warm ups at amphitheater (someone else mentioned this in prior post)

Pregame countdown:
2:45 before kickoff - Tiger Walk down Victory Hill
20 min later - TGBFTL march down Victory Hill to the PMAC.
30-40 min before kickoff get to your seats for and get kids concessions. watch final warmups. Somewhere in here Mike VI will be paraded around the field. Note that prior to his parade his trailer is parked in the walkway to the visitor's dressing room for max effect.
15:00 before kickoff (voted best pregame in CFB)TGBFTL marches on to field.
3:00 to kickoff The Tigers come out the dressing room

0:00 KO! You are on your own now!

whichever game you go to if you look on LSUSports.net they will publish the pregame countdown with a lot more detail than I listed and probably more accurate.

Poor joke when children [especially young girls] are involved.
You have NO idea why I am named Old and Grumpy.
But go ahead.....give it a shot.

I've usually grabbed them a little further from the stadium from tailgaters around campus. Twice last season, in response to a friendly "hello", I was asked if I had good seats. I said I had no seats, and walked away with lower-bowl tickets both times (Auburn & Texas A&M--bad weather games).

Monitoring the ticket exchange on this site on gameday is also a good strategy that's led to free or cheap tickets in the past. Otherwise, around the PMAC side and some of the larger tailgating zones you will usually meet someone with an extra ticket or two. Dress your two daughters in head-to-toe purple and gold and you'll meet lots of new friends, some of whom will have spare tickets or know someone who does.

Good luck, Geaux Tigers!

I think it's fine to take them to a non-conference game. They are 10 and 8 and I doubt they won't mind who the opponent is and since the game will be a blowout and they are little kids you can leave early if you have to and not miss anything and there might be more room where you are sitting since they are kids and they can get bored quickly and like to squirm a bit.

My first college football game was Michigan State against a MAC school and the memories are just as good.

I made the same call on the non-conference game for my daughter's first Tiger Stadium experience, since I wanted to be 100% sure it'd be a night game.

Prepare yourself for the possibility that their first LSU game might not be, for them, as special and memorable as our first game was for us.
