Nothing like walking into Pi on S Peters at 4AM and the intoxicating smell of pizza hitting you. Your drunk appetite spikes even more and you want EVERYTHING.

Before I knew Pi existed, I got hammered at a concert and wandered around the city in my jammies looking for a Schlittz and Giggles (knowing there isn't one in New Orleans). I woke up the next morning with Google pulled up with just the word "pizza" in the search bar The first result was a Wikipedia article about pizza. Apparently I was using that to find pizza whilst drunk.

One of the things I love about Vincent's cannelloni is the delicate pasta. It's not a thick tube. It's very thin which lightens the dish to some extent. I get the pink sauce so that the white and red is mixed already.

Every time I've been there, he's personally visited my table and other tables and was quite pleasant. Staggered some apps for me one time when I ordered those rather than an entree. He came over after the order and asked me how I would like them served. I thought that was a great touch.

Didn't see him come out of the kitchen once when we dined there. Also, the wine was served in pretty crappy glassware and was quite warm.

Service was fine. Food was a train wreck.

Tory McPhail posted a pic of a meal he had at Marcello's last night, I believe. Gonna look into that restaurant. If anyone has written about it, I must have missed it or thought it was in some other city.

I've posted about it in at least 2 or 3 threads. Not that my opinion matters much to you, obviously.

Your list has everything from high end Italian to what I would call everyday spots to eat.

Never been to Adolfo's.

you need to rectify this. The crabmeat/corn cannelloni is incredible as is the veal ocean.

Adolfo's is great, but small and no reservations and cash only make it a limited option for me.

I have to drive by more than a dozen Italian places I do like to get to it.

We will never agree on the best,

But Andrea's is the worst food I have ever had in a restaurant setting.

(I prefer spaghetti-os to Andrea's)

They actually do take reservations, but limit it to only about 4 tables a night. I found this out recently. Very odd. The cash only is a tough sell, but I know this and go prepared. I personally love the small space of it; very cool, old new orleans feel to it. But I can see it being a turn off to others.

Question regarding Irene's. What is the restaurant the ex husband opened? I heard it's the same menu, just as good and takes reservations. This true?

I was taken to Andrea's twice for business related dinners when out in that area. It was bad both times. I remember that I didn't get why the person suggesting it liked it. I ate a lot of bread.

The eggplant dishes and lasagna at Liuzza's are good. It's family style, but for what it is, it's very good.

My favorite was La Riviera, but it's been closed since about 2005.

Mosca's is good for family style, but it has a strange remote location.

I love Adolfo's

Surprised to see that I'm the only one w/ love for Sal and Judy's or the Northshore.

I personally felt that Mosca's was extremely overrated.

Absolutely love Domenica and Ancora, and I plan on trying Mariza and Marcello's soon. I'm not into overly heavy, saucy, creamy Nola Creole Italian food.

The only 3 I've been to on the list are:

Vincent's
Venezia's
Tony Angelo's

All were very good, but I'm not really the biggest fan of Italian cuisine.

Nobody's mentioned Impastato's. Isn't that a pretty well respected restaurant?
