Really? The president, who himself has ties to the Muslim faith, makes a formal statement saying outright lies praising the Muslim faith (the Muslim faith had zero to do with building the fabric of our nation or strengthening our democracy) and it's beneath your standards of thread worthiness? Shocking.

To the other naysayers who aren't leftist scum, have you become that desensitized to how awful Obama is?

Obama should do this for all of the major religions of the world at the appropriate time.

If he's showing favoritism to Islam, then, that's another example of him being a bad POTUS.

USMC can defend himself, but here's the problem:
quote:

Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business—you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.
quote:

. . . reminds us of the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.

Hatred? From pointing out historical fact and error? Please quote my "hate". I don't even think I said anything bad about muslims here.

Considering the source, opinion does not matter.

Did you read your own link? There is little or nothing demonstrating "building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy." Are you retarded?

I didn't say anything about hating muslims. You use language like "leftist scum" in your post and say that doesn't insinuate a certain level of hatred? Was that a term of endearment?

You really aren't taking the original quote from the president in context. That's a shame. Everyone has contributed to building the fabric of this democracy. In a direct way, we have Keith Ellison, a congressman, who is participating at one of the highest levels of our democracy. How is that not contributing?

Relative to other religions their contributions aren't worth mentioning. At all. Like, .000001% of why this country is where it's at today. Unless you count Obama being one, then it's 100% contributed to the current abysmal state.

Well there you have it.

Bundy, Mansion, Dahmer . . . OJ, and certainly convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal would fall under that umbrella.

They built that.

I'm stealing this from someone else:
quote:

Thomas Jefferson sent the U.S. Marines to North Africa to root out the Muslim pirates who were preying on American shipping, taking hostages, demanding ransom.

The episode marked the beginning of our proud nautical history, and of the U.S. Marines as the fighting force they are today. So, I must agree that we may owe that feat to the Muslims.

I can't believe an American President would say

quote:

"Here in the United States our Muslim citizens are making many contributions in business, science and law, medicine and education, and in other fields. Muslim members of our Armed Forces and of my administration are serving their fellow Americans with distinction, upholding our nation's ideals of liberty and justice in a world at peace."

The American President who said that was George W Bush.

Muslims haven't ever been a great people at doing anything but killing people and wars.

25 percent of them are terrorist and about 50 percent support them regardless if their agenda. The other 25 percent don't give a damn.
