How much math, science or engineering do you need to be a pastor? Do you even need a high school diploma?
Most pastors I know have a graduate degree, speak Greek and Hebrew, and have enough money to raise a family. I'm sure that's a more impressive resume than you.

1) Pretty sure most pastors aren't in it for the money. 2) Exceptions to every rule: "You, sir, are the dumbfrick... I'm ROLLIN' ... bwahahahahahaa." Sincerely, "Reverends" Sharpton, Jackson, Wright
so, like the piece of shite scum that you are, you list 3 black preachers as negative examples. I'm pretty sure most liberal arts majors aren't in it for the money either.

He and his wife Darnelle immediately took in Lisa's three children -- ages 4, 7 and 9 at the time -- even though they knew it would be a huge struggle to support them. Steve earns less than $75,000 per year as a pastor, while Darnelle earns even less as a director at the same church.
1) So did the father(s) of these kids die too? Does he/they not pay child support of any kind? Why isn't he/aren't they taking care of the kids
2) A "struggle to support them" on 75k + the wife's salary? There are families of 5 that get by on half that
ETA: and being 27 with 3 kids and no life insurance is pretty selfish on the daughters part as well

Most pastors get their degrees on a hickory stump...that doesn't make them capable of grand intellectual feats or good judgement.

Her parents really should have considered a life insurance policy for her.
Now that I'm thinking about it.....I've got to ask the money board a couple of questions about setting up a policy for myself.

Would co-signing a loan of, let's say 25K, for your son to get a degree in petroleum engineering seem like a reasonable investment in his future?
Nope. Not to me.
Kid can get his own loan or can work. But, I'm not co-signing anything of the sort.

No. Maybe you should rethink this whole posting thing.

my wife has a cousin who is almost 50 has degrees from LSU Vanderbilt Harvard Oxford in England and can't/wont get a job because they will garnish his wages. Lol he's past the point of diminishing returns.

No, I listed three pastors who don't seem to have money issues.
But ... continuing "flaming" and embarassing yourself, jackass.

He actually can't get his own loan as he has no credit. You, sir, would make a shitty father.

Fairly certain that most of this board think that BHP would make a fine father (if he is not already, I do not know) ... and that based on his stories and posts, that BHP was raised by a fine father as well.

I got my own GSLs and got through Engineering by loans and working.

Perhaps. But, my father made a GREAT father and he would never cosign for me.

Meh, the government and the banks hand out student loans like candy.

That's cool, most of this board can be wrong.
I don't care about the rest of his stories and posts, this one post exposed how selfish he is/will be concerning his children. That's all I need to know.

So you think that knowing another language is proof of whatever? There are several million hispanics in my neck of the woods that must be geniuses then!

It's sad they lost their child....the debt thing was a risk they knowingly took on. Look, in statistics we never say a thing has either a probability of 1 or 0, you need to understand that no matter how small, there is still a chance you get caught by that risk. they did. they knowingly accepted they could be caught, so I have zero sympathy for them on the debt.

You are correct, any bank loan officer will tell you the probability of having to pay a loan that you co-signed for is huge, if the risk was low a co-signer would not be needed. I know most parents think "their" child would never default on a student loan, but the statistics indicate they are wrong, the delinquency rate on student loans in 2013 was 30 percent and rising. In the world of finance co-sign is synonymous with you-pay.

It would be nice if the banks had to fully bear the risks of their lending habits with respect to student loans too.

Sure, and actually, I apologize for my comments. That was too personal.
I don't know how old you are, but the dynamic of school tuition and student loans is changing rapidly and not in a good way. In the four years I was in college, my tuition was increased by 60%. There was little way that even with adequate financial planning I could have managed that on my own. My parents co-signing for me allowed me to get a much small interest rate and since I am responsible they will never pay a dime of it.
