Well, it isn't like we are going full romantic. Combining house hunting and anniversary at the end of the week. I wanted Butcher and mentioned Peche. Probably going to hit a bang-bang thursday afternoon/night.

The free bread and butter isn't that great, go somewhere else

It's not any louder than any other busy New Orleans restaurant. Certainly less loud than say Galatoires on a Friday lunch

If you can put up with Drunk Yeezy, you can handle Peche.
It's not that bad. But I'm into that hip, loud, social atmosphere.
I'm practically an R2R in training.

Yeah, I mean, that's what I felt. It's loud, but I've had no problem carrying on a conversation there.

I'm guessing they put 2 tops at the booth/bench.

No. I've recently been twice and each time we were seated at a table.
I think you missed out on some of their better items. As some mentioned, their raw dishes are great. I had the raw oysters both times and thought they were amazing. As far as apps we have had, fried bread, hush puppies, seafood gumbo, and shrimp bisque were all down really well. I didn't expect hush puppies or fried bread to blow my socks off, but they were an excellent variation of something old.
Both times we goth the whole grilled redfish. While it is slightly a chore to eat, both the experience and flavors/taste make it all worth it.
Personally, their sides may be my favorite thing. Fride brussel sprouts (not actually fried, pan-seared), stewed okra & tomatoes, and roasted eggplant did blow my socks off. Those brussel sprouts

They also have a decent wine list, good cocktails, and a cool bar to wait for a table. I think you should go back and give it another shot.

cocktails were outstanding. I was downing the one with the jalapeno syrup in it (don't remember what it was)

I plan on it. I want to try the Tuna Collar (or whatever it's called). The brussel sprouts were on our list to try the other day, but we got too full off the small plates we had. Next time will just do one app/small plate, the tuna and some sides.

Still not gonna go for the whole fish after all the recommendations for it?

If I can get the wife to order it, I'd try it. That tuna blade looked too good though. I've never been a big whole fish fan in the past. Tried it at a spot in Houston that specializes in it, and I wasn't impressed. Something about the face staring up at me I can't get past

Plus you are loud, so probably best for the other restaurants.

I was probably the quietest at our table. Not that it's say much

Yeah, I don't mind loud. Actually, loud is better when seating is done bench-style because I start to care less about the person next to me hearing my conversation.

As long as I'm not talking badly about them, they can eavesdrop on whatever they want.

Should I go there or not?
If I go there, what should I order?
If I don't like it, what will they give me?

The million dollar question. One complainer got their whole meal comped. It probably took them more time than it's actually worth.

The best I've seen lately was the restaurant who gave the complainer (F&DB poster) a free ribeye steak in a zip lock freezer bag. I was like WTF?
