It won't be that tough for Houston people. If you forgo any sort of tailgate you could leave Houston around 3 and leave yourself plenty of time to get there for a 7p kickoff. Just plan for an early lunch if you normally do turkey at 2 or so.

Is the gametime for sure going to be at night every year? I see 6:30 this year but thought I read at some point that the time was subject to change year to year.

If so, not bad for Houston. Louisiana folks simply have to choose whether that game is the entirety of their weekend or not.

I live in Houston. Would go if the game were on a Saturday. Will not go with it being on Thanksgiving. I'm sure many will say the same.

On the flip side, it's a great excuse for not having to cook and spend all day driving to and from family.

It'll be like any other game where gametime is subject to change.

Entirety of their weekend? Hardly. Game is on a Thursday night. You could be back in Baton Rouge by lunch on Friday.

LSU sold its 5,000 tickets an amount smaller than we get from any other SEC school. I assume probably half of those are LSU fans who live in SE TExass. Good for them.

My wife and I attend every LSU game home and away. I did not even order tickets to the Ags game for this year. No Thanksgiving games for us this year or any year.

Note: we went to the A&M game in 2012 in CS and the whole expeience was absolutely worthless. Ugliest campus in the SEC BY FAR. Fans not particularly loud. Makes a game at Starkville seem like a Super Bowl! :-)

I'll be going with my Aggie wife being one of the lone gold shirts in the sea of maroon. While there will be a lot of Houston people there, Thanksgiving is definitely deterring people. We have a group of 5 of us that are close that all went to LSU. We are traveling for the Arky game two weeks before. So, we are pretty gung-ho fans, but only two of us will be going to the game. I'm just hoping we are well represented at the bars. Even when we had a big crowd at the game two years ago, the Aggies do a good job of separating the sections and not allowing any sort of fan continuity to happen.

Also, every other Thanksgiving will now be on Fridays for us. Even I am not a fan of the game being on TG, it has at least made the decision of what family to visit that day easy.

I will be there and will be coming from Baton Rouge.
I know a good bit of Tigers that will be attending that game. I think it will be a good turn out in Aggieland.

You know, the whining and moaning from some of you is incredulous. You speak as though games in the SEC should be scheduled with the road fans in mind. It doesn't work that way.

I absolutely HATE this game being played on Thanksgiving.

It needs to be played on Black Friday.

Not only will no people from Louisiana go on Thanksgiving, the game is being played at the exact same time as the Seahawks-49ers game, so nobody around the country will be watching.

I was planning on making this road trip a given every other year. I went in 2012 and have been to every LSU game in Collie Station since the late 1980s series.

But, can't do Thanksgiving day/night. So, no go.

This is one of the top selling tickets right now and will be sold out for sure. LSU fans have been waiting to go back to Kyle Field for a long time. Thanksgiving will not make much of a difference.

5,000 tickets? Are you sure that was not 2 years ago? We were supposed to get the standard 7,000 this year esp since their stadium will seat over 109,000. Lots of Austin tigers will be there.

Ark must be miserable. I made the trip to CS for the last game, and that place was brutal.

I was figuring that it wasn't since I was actually able to get a ticket. Last several times LSU has traveled to Tuscaloosa my number hasn't even been close to the cutoff. I haven't seen the cutoff for CS this year but I assume I was one of the last few to get in.

I live 2 hours away, and will boycott attendance to the game, strictly based on it is a crap atm tradition that was created in agreement with Texas, not us. I will watch from home, with my family around me. I went to the last one, and College Station is not all that.

Are we 100% sure about that? I don't recall Alleva ever saying that the games in BR will automatically be on Saturday nights. He just said that the years that the game is in BR, it will not be played on Thanksgiving.

I hope not a single LSU fan shows up to prove a point to AM and the Tigers beat AM into submission. I'm sure the players don't want to play on Thanksgiving. They spend their entire school year playing football, they probably appreciate Thanksgiving with their extended family. Especially the out of towners. JMO. Flame away.
