Just finished it. Damn Joel is a psycho.

I don't think that would be my word of choice

Killing the doctors reminded me of killing too many scientists/civilians in goldeneye and failing the mission

Just started "Grounded" mode. Anyone try it? I read up a bit and apparently it's insane
That beginning tho

Just finished. I'm sick in the head. I walked up to the girl dr/nurse that was cowering in the corner and executed her. right in the face.
also.. loved the game. great story. I played through very slowly. I spent my time creeping around getting rid of all enemies, then going around finding any and all supplies in areas. Still though, it felt very very short to me. As for the ending, I understand it, didn't really like it. Like could you really be that selfish in a situation like that? Excited to see how a part 2 will play out. Going to play "Left behind" dlc now.

Finished both recently for the first time. LOVED IT! Biggest complaint was the AI of both enemies and friendly NPCs. Everyone was a dumbass. I'd occasionally get help from my allies, but most of the time I'd wish they would just stay in a corner and let me clear out the map (or at least clear out a path for them). But most situations it didn't really matter because it seemed like the enemies very rarely noticed them anyways. FYI, this was on normal difficulty.
That's my only complaint thought. Loved the ending!
**spoilers**
Joel has a second chance of having a daughter. C'mon, how can some of you be disappointed in a story where, god forbid, the main character acts selfishly for a change instead of saving the world. It's completely the opposite of the Hollywood bullshite of the hero saving the day or someone sacrificing their life to save mankind and it's refreshing & real! That is what makes it great! Joel is the exact opposite of the stereotypical hero throughout the entire game, so why would he be anything else than what he had been? He isn't a great guy. He isn't a hero. He isn't "let's save everyone around and live as long as we can together" guy. He is a survive first, mean, don't slow me down because I'll leave you to die s.o.b. If the ending would have been anything different, it would have been typical Hollywood, Video Game happiness - that the opposite of what Joel had been the ENTIRE game. And for those that say him accepting her death to save humanity would represent him growing as a character...his relationship with Ellie was him growing as a character! He wouldn't even thank her for saving his arse at the beginning of the game. at the end of it he is saying screw humanity, I don't want anyone taking this girl (2nd chance of a daughter) away from me. That's character development!
Lastly, the voice actress of Ellie was phenomenal. Possibly the best voice actor I've heard in a game.

Enemies never notice people with you until they notice you. Which I like.
Ending was great. Humanity was too far gone at this point, why kill the girl just for a chance?
BTW, grounded difficulty is pretty insane. Even runners basically take you down if they get within reach of you. Plus there's no "spidey sense" at all, which really puts you to the test. I found it weird that you don't get a health bar at all either. So you never really know how close you are to dying unless you watch Joel and see if he's limping around or not. There's also hardly any on screen prompts

It took me like 10 hrs to beat Left Behind on Grounded mode. That's not even an exaggeration.
I became obsessed with beating it and must have done the last part at least 50 times in a row before I did it.

I finally beat the part in the subway looking area where it's dark with about 7-8 clickers. I was determined to get the parts in the safe. Took me a total of about an hour and a half just to get through that part

Very well said. The surgery wasn't a 100% sure thing if I remember either and was humanity worth saving at that point? They had problem beyond the virus and the infected weren't the biggest threat.

The first time I did that took me fricking forever The next 2 times I played, I just breezed through that. It's not as hard as it seems once you play through the game and get used to it but that section is so early in it that you don't have a good feel for it yet.

Yeah it's not hard just to get through on it's own really, but getting the paper with the code and then over to the other side with the safe is challenging. Not to mention I didn't have any shivs so it was just two molotovs I had to get real creative with and hope I could take out enough of them. What really makes that so difficult on Grounded is that runners take you out easily as well. Then they alert the clickers and you're fricked
I'm real interested to see how this difficult is when I'm trying to get through Bills town, the part where you follow the black dude, and then Jesus...the hospital at the end will be impossible

The sewers will be rough
I'm just doing my 3rd play through on hard + for trophies.

After playing on Grounded, even survivor feels too easy. My only complaint is humans sneak up on you too easily on Grounded. They don't make a sound when they are walking slowly. Idk how many times I was stalking a guy to shiv him and another guy grabs me and chokes me out from behind without making a sound.
